Three Reasons To Get Same Day Crowns

If you've ever actually had a crown placed over one of your teeth in the past, you understand that the procedure usually includes a minimum of two appointments to the dentist and the placement of a short-term crown prior to you getting your permanent one.

However, there is a brand-new treatment for installing crowns that can enable you to obtain a long-term crown the same day. As the name suggests, same day crown devices allow crowns to be produced right there beside the dental practitioner's chair.

Have a look at a couple of reasons same day crowns might be right for you.

Better Looking Teeth

Same day crowns are made completely of ceramic, getting rid of the requirement for metal. While metal crowns are completely practical and safe, they're frequently considered less attractive than ceramic.

Ceramic crowns more closely resemble your natural enamel, making them an aesthetically preferable option, especially for highly-visible front teeth.

Same day crown machines can match the crown exactly to the shade of your natural teeth.

Saves Money And Time

Every hour you spend at the dentist's office is an hour off work or away from another activity or obligation.

Having to return to the dental practitioner's office a number of times for one treatment might mean getting time off at work authorized for more than one day, getting a sitter for more than one day, or filling your car with gas to drive out of your way more than once in a brief time-span.

Any which way you take a look at it, numerous dental visits cost you money, in addition to what you're spending on the dental treatment. Getting everything performed in one appointment conserves time, and time is cash.

Saves More Natural Teeth

The machine used in the same day crown treatment takes a digital scan of your tooth and after that is used to mill the crown on the spot, using the specific specifications provided by the digital scan.

This enables the dentist to maintain as much of your natural tooth structure as possible, which is the healthiest option for your jaw.

This also permits the dentist to use the device to develop inlays or onlays. These are partial crowns, used when you need more coverage than a filling will provide but less than a full crown.

Thanks to the more precise digital measurements supplied by the same day crown device, teeth that may once have actually needed a full crown might now be prospects for only a partial crown.

If you think that one of your cracked teeth will probably need a crown, be sure to make a visit with our dental practitioners today.

Today's Discussion Will Be About:

Dental Bonding (Composite)

Bonding is a procedure in which we apply a tooth-colored composite product to a tooth, shape it, allow it to harden, and polish it. It can be used in certain circumstances where a tooth has actually been broken or become stained. These are usually minor repairs, ones that can be resolved through this fairly inexpensive methods rather than through a more expensive dental procedure.

Here's How It Works:
Bonding involves adhering composite resin material that is matched to the color of the tooth, to the front of the tooth. This is done to repair damage done to the tooth by decay, to modify the alignment of the tooth, close spaces between the teeth, or for cosmetic purposes. First the surface of the tooth is roughened in order to accept the bonding and hold it. A gel is applied to micro etch the tooth surface, and a primer/bond agent is used so the material sticks to the surface area. Then the material itself is put on the tooth and hardened with intense light. The composite resin material is formed and polished to obtain a lustrous finish as a last step.
