At our dental practice we do same day crowns. You may be asking, what are same day crowns and exactly what can it do for me?

It is a 3D system that lets us make porcelain crowns and inlays all in one appointment. We have now been using this technology for many years and like it more than ever.

Same day crowns are an in-surgery computer system that permits us to fix broken or missing tooth structures with a ceramic product that's as close to a natural tooth as is possible.

This is done while you are in the practice, in just one appointment. All ceramic porcelain inlays and onlays, veneers and crowns that look like natural teeth can be made and fitted in a single appointment, generally in about an hour.

So exactly what is the treatment?

We scan the opposite teeth and the method the teeth bite together first. We eliminate the old filling, and decay and any thin weak tooth product and scan the readied tooth.

After this we stop working in the mouth and begin working on the computer.

Everybody enjoys seeing the pictures of their teeth and the developing of their new tooth. We make 3D design and this info is sent out to the milling device.

Everybody asks if this is like 3D printing and yes it is, but the tooth is not developed layer by layer, it is cut back from a block in the machine, which is much more durable.

The block is then precisely sculpted to produce your brand-new restoration, which is fantastic.

At last, the custom made crown restoration bonded seamlessly into the tooth, strengthening and sealing it at the same time and after that we tidy up!

We need to make certain that you can bite properly, that its smooth and that you can floss.

Same Day Teeth Restorations

CEREC stands for CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take accurate digital imagery of locations needing restoration and produce the appropriate restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration finished in just one visit. We will design and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer system milling unit right in the office. You no longer have to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the lab to fabricate your crown.

Today We Will Be Going Over:

Teeth Veneers (Porcelain)

Veneers are a really thin pieces of durable, tooth shaped, porcelain that are custom made (for shape and color) by a professional dental lab. They are bonded onto the front of teeth to produce a stunning and attractive smile.

Veneers can completely reshape your teeth and smile. They can commonly be alternatives to crowns and the ideal option in treating many cosmetic dental conditions for the front teeth.

As with a lot of dental restorations, veneers might at some point require replacement; however, they are still really durable and will last years, giving you a long lasting, lovely smile.

How Are Veneers Placed?

Veneers are a dental procedure in which a covering is placed over the outside (visible area) of the tooth. Veneers are typically only done to the part of the teeth that are visible when talking or smiling. The procedure can be direct or indirect.

The direct strategy typically involves placing composite resin on the outside of the tooth using bonding. This method is generally referred to as bonding.

The indirect technique normally involves two visits because the veneers will be produced at a dental laboratory. At the first visit the teeth are prepared, impressions taken, and the teeth are provided a short-term covering. In 2 to 3 weeks the veneers are back from the lab, the temporaries are removed and the veneers are bonded to the teeth. The lab made veneers are typically made using porcelain or pressed ceramic, and are extremely esthetic.

The benefit of veneers versus crowns is that much less tooth material is removed, and the procedure is usually less uncomfortable. Veneers are not suggested for teeth that have big fillings or little tooth structure.

You will get care directions for your veneers. Proper brushing, flossing and regular dental visits will aid in the life of your brand-new and stunning veneers.
