Dental Dentures

There are different kinds of dentures, but they share their common function. They replace teeth that have actually become loose or been lost due to bone loss. When bone loss around the roots of teeth is great enough to let them fall out or loosen them, it's time for dentures. Relax. Nobody enjoys losing their natural teeth, however you can still eat and talk regularly.

The whole mouth is examined and a determination is made as to which teeth will have to be removed, and which will remain. The loose teeth are then extracted. Dentures are fitted to go around or over whatever teeth stay in the mouth, depending on the type. There is an adjustment period after dentures are positioned in the mouth, and it can take some getting used to. Once accustomed to the dentures, all the normal capability and look return and one just continues as usual. Typically implants can be used to further stabilize the dentures.

It is essential to keep in mind that life with an upper denture, a lower denture, and especially both, is a major lifestyle change when compared with natural teeth. Dentures impact the type of food you have the ability to eat, your self-confidence in social circumstances, and even your self-confidence.

A Few Reasons For Considering A Full Denture:

  • All Teeth missing in the same arch

  • Restore chewing capability

  • Restore a natural looking smile

  • Economical alternative to other treatments

An upper full denture will almost always feel much better than a lower full denture. In order to significantly improve the fit of a lower full denture, we frequently suggest utilizing dental implants as a retentive mechanism. Two dental implants placed in the lower jaw can help anchor the denture and considerably improve comfort. In some cases, the implants can even be put in the jaw after a denture has been in use for multiple years.
