CROWNS BEFORE AND AFTER
VICK LOUISIANA

Updated On Wednesday, December 12, 2018 02:43:25 PM

At our dental practice we do same day crowns. You may be asking, what are same day crowns and exactly what can it provide for me?

It is a 3D system that lets us make porcelain crowns and inlays all in one visit. We have now been using this technology for many years and love it more than ever.

Same day crowns are an in-surgery computer system that permits us to replace broken or missing tooth structures with a ceramic material that's as close to a natural tooth as is possible.

This is done while you remain in the practice, in simply one visit. All ceramic porcelain inlays and onlays, veneers and crowns that look and feel like natural teeth can be made and placed in a single appointment, generally in about an hour.

So what is the treatment?

We scan the opposite teeth and the method the teeth bite together first. We eliminate the old filling, and decay and any thin weak tooth product and scan the prepared tooth.

After this we quit working in the mouth and start working with the computer.

Everyone enjoys seeing the pictures of their teeth and the designing of their new tooth. We make 3D design and this info is sent out to the milling system.

Everyone asks if this is like 3D printing and yes it is, but the tooth isn't developed layer by layer, it is cut from a block in the machine, which is much stronger.

The block is then precisely sculpted to produce your brand-new restoration, which is fantastic.

At last, the customized crown restoration bonded perfectly into the tooth, reinforcing and sealing it at the same time and then we tidy up!

We have to make certain that you can bite correctly, that its smooth and that you can floss.

Same Day Tooth Restorations

CEREC stands for CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take accurate digital images of areas requiring restoration and produce the proper restoration on the spot.

Today's Discussion Has To Do With:

Tooth Whitening

Because having whiter teeth has now become the top aesthetic concern of the majority of clients, there are numerous methods to whiten teeth. The most popular method is utilizing a home tooth whitening system that will whiten teeth considerably. Because tooth whitening only works on natural tooth enamel, it is essential to evaluate replacement of any old fillings, crowns, etc. Replacement of any restorations will be done after whitening so they will match the freshly bleached teeth.

Most dentists utilize a number of approaches: custom made tray lightening, professional strength white strips, and in-office bleaching.

The tray technique involves having impressions taken, which the laboratory makes into custom-made vinyl trays. A carbamide peroxide gel is put in these trays and the trays with gel are worn for about 30 minutes to a full hour. The whole process takes about a week of daily use. Three different strengths of gel might be utilized, however, the higher the strength, the greater the possibility of reactions or tooth sensitivity. The tray approach is advised for badly stained teeth, such as tetracycline staining, and it may take multiple months of use to see substantial color improvement.

Our in-office treatment is a very quick and hassle-free lightening procedure. The visit is around one hour including both the preparation and treatment. Our clients love this treatment because it is so easy and fast!

Tooth whitening is not permanent. A touch-up might be needed once a year and more often if you smoke and/or drink coffee, tea, or wine. For upkeep of whitened teeth the trays must be used every couple of months.

Reasons For Tooth Whitening:

  • Yellow, brown stained teeth.

  • Normal wear of external tooth layer.

  • Florousis (extreme fluoridation during tooth development).

  • Stained teeth due to medications (tetracycline, etc.).
