2 Benefits Provided By Same Day Crowns

Crown treatments are very typical and are mostly used in place of a filling when the tooth has actually lost too much of its initial structure to support the filling.

One of the best methods to get a crown applied is to see a dental practitioner that provides same day crowns, which eliminates a few of the inconvenience that comes along with a conventional crown procedure.

A same day crown is a fantastic option due to the fact that it can restrict your discomfort and hassle.

Reduce Discomfort

A same day crown is made possible when a dental practitioner chooses to bypass buying crowns from a dental lab and purchases the devices to produce the crowns onsite.

One of the most significant advantages to this is that it negates the requirement for you to wear a temporary crown.

This is handy since a temporary crown can be a significant source of pain for the several days or weeks that you must wear it before your last crown is positioned.

One reason that a short-term crown can add to your pain is that they are very seldom able to entirely seal your tooth.

This can be an issue as that means that liquids, cold air, and food can potentially get under the short-term crown and reach your exposed nerve, which can be extremely painful.

Another factor that a temporary crown can be uncomfortable is due to the fact that it can frequently become rather loose. Once it is loose, the temporary crown can start scraping and scratch the gums around it.

While a temporary crown is not supposed to be used long term, why trouble with it at all when you can get a same day crown and avoid one entirely?

Reduce Inconvenience

Finally, conventional crowns usually take up to several weeks to finish.

This is due to the fact that your first visit is meant to fix the problems with your tooth, create a mold for the long-term crown, and connect a short-term crown.

After that, you will wind up waiting a number of days or weeks before you can return to the dentist for the permanent crown.

The issue with this method is that you will have to schedule multiple visits, which can be very troublesome if you have a busy schedule due to school, work, or anything else.

However, a same day crown can be completed in just one visit, which removes much of the trouble associated with crown procedures.

Speak to your local dentist today in order to go over whether a same day crown is a great fit for you and your situation.

A same day crown is a terrific method to limit both your inconvenience and discomfort when getting a crown.

Today We Will Be Discussing:

Composite Dental Bonding

Bonding is a treatment where we use a tooth-colored composite material to a tooth, shape it, allow it to harden, and polish it. It can be used in specific situations where a tooth has actually been damaged or become stained. These are typically small repairs, ones that can be resolved through this reasonably inexpensive ways instead of through a more costly dental treatment.

Here's How It Works:
Bonding includes adhering composite resin material that is matched to the color of the tooth, to the front of the tooth. This is done to fix damage done to the tooth by decay, to modify the alignment of the tooth, close gaps in between the teeth, or for cosmetic purposes. First the surface of the tooth is roughed up in order to accept the bonding and hold it. A gel is applied to micro etch the tooth surface, and a primer/bond agent is used so the material sticks to the surface. Then the material itself is positioned on the tooth and hardened with intense light. The composite resin material is formed and polished to get a lustrous finish as a last step.
