Can Same Day Crowns Benefit Me?

With this brand-new technology it permits dentists to custom-craft restorations in as little as one hour. With this, we can produce natural looking crowns, onlays, inlays, and veneers here in our office while you relax. Now, there is no longer a need to make numerous appointments to the dental practitioner's office to be measured and fitted with short-term restorations - you can enjoy a dazzling, natural looking, and resilient solution for your missing or damaged teeth today.

First, your dental practitioner will consult with you to talk about the information of the procedure. Throughout the procedure, the dental practitioner will put a thin layer of reflective powder onto your tooth and will use a unique camera to take a photo of your tooth.

Using the new software, the photo acts as a map to develop your tooth's restoration. Then, it will use a diamond bur and disk-work to develop your restoration piece from ceramic.

Finally, the ceramic restoration is bonded to your tooth using cutting edge adhesive dentistry.

It makes your teeth stronger and more beautiful - all while keeping your teeth looking natural. The restoration is metal-free and the state-of-the-art ceramic material works with the natural tissue found in your mouth.

Today We Will Be Reviewing:

Temporal-Mandibular Joint

TMJ stands for temporal-mandibular joint. Temporal, as in temple area of skull; mandibular as in mandible, or lower jaw; joint as in it's where the head and jaw meet. Issues in this joint may be triggered by a misalignment of the teeth, trauma, or excess muscle stress. Aside from the two bones that meet there, cartilage buffers them and five muscles are involved in the area. If something goes wrong a good deal of trouble can result.

Problems in this area can cause:

  • Earaches.

  • Headaches.

  • Pain in the jaw muscles.

  • Soreness in opening and closing the mouth.

  • Soreness in the area, in some cases extending to the face.

  • Clicking or popping of the jaw.

Dental treatments for the condition can consist of replacing missing teeth, moving teeth, adjusting the bite, filling spaces between teeth, and so on. There is no one solution that is right for all cases. Often a plastic mouthpiece is utilized to prevent clenching or grinding that is contributing to the problem. If unattended and taken to extremes, surgery may be needed to repair a severely damaged joint.
