Composite Dental Bonding

Bonding is a treatment in which we apply a tooth-colored composite material to a tooth, shape it, allow it to harden, and polish it. It can be used in certain scenarios where a tooth has been broken or ended up being stained. These are typically small repairs, ones that can be resolved through this fairly affordable means instead of through a more pricey dental procedure.

Here Is How It Works:
Bonding includes adhering composite resin material that is matched to the color of the tooth, to the front of the tooth. This is done to fix damage done to the tooth by decay, to modify the positioning of the tooth, close spaces in between the teeth, or for cosmetic purposes. First the surface of the tooth is roughened in order to accept the bonding and hold it. A gel is applied to micro etch the tooth surface, and a primer/bond agent is used so the material sticks to the surface. Then the material itself is placed on the tooth and hardened with intense light. The composite resin material is formed and polished to get a glossy finish as a last step.
