What Is So Great About Same Day Crowns?

In a common dental practice, receiving dental crowns is a long and frequently an unpleasant procedure that can take several weeks to complete. However, our practice uses same day crown technology, which enables us to scan, design, and mill stunning tooth-colored crowns in one day.

Imagine entering our dental office to receive a crown and walking out the same day with a strong, long lasting, and aesthetically pleasing crown already in place. Call us today for additional information!

The Single Visit Crown Process

During your appointment, you and your dentist will go over the details of the treatment and your dentist will answer any questions you might have. Your dental practitioner will then apply a thin layer of reflective powder onto your tooth and will use a special 3D imaging camera to take a picture of your tooth. Using the brand-new software, your restoration will be created according to your tooth's appropriate form and function.

Then, the mill will use diamond burs to produce your restoration out of a piece of ceramic. Finally, the ceramic restoration is bonded to your tooth using state-of-the-art adhesive dentistry.

Same Day Tooth Restorations

CEREC means CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take accurate digital imagery of locations needing restoration and produce the proper restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration finished in just one visit. We will create and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer system milling unit right in the office. You no longer need to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the lab to make your crown.

CEREC can be utilized for a wide range of indications: veneers, inlays, onlays, partial crowns, posterior crowns and anterior crowns.

Today's Conversation Will Be About:

Composite Dental Bonding

Bonding is a procedure where we use a tooth-colored composite material to a tooth, shape it, allow it to harden, and polish it. It can be used in specific situations where a tooth has actually been broken or become stained. These are typically small repairs, ones that can be resolved through this fairly affordable means rather than through a more expensive dental treatment.

Here Is How It Works:
Bonding involves adhering composite resin material that is matched to the color of the tooth, to the front of the tooth. This is done to repair damage done to the tooth by decay, to alter the alignment of the tooth, close gaps between the teeth, or for cosmetic purposes. First the surface of the tooth is roughened in order to accept the bonding and hold it. A gel is applied to micro etch the tooth surface, and a primer/bond agent is applied so the material adheres to the surface. Then the material itself is placed on the tooth and hardened with intense light. The composite resin material is formed and polished to get a lustrous finish as a last step.
