Single Visit Dental Crowns - A Smart Technology

We strive to stay current with the multitude of technological advances that are taking place in dentistry. We are proud to have the same day crown technology in our office. It permits us to produce crowns and bigger restorations in our office. Same day crowns use the most advanced dental technology, including 3D video imaging and CAD/CAM innovation. In layman's terms, it is a computer-designed restoration for your tooth. The entire treatment takes between 1-2 hours and can be finished in one sitting.

Normally, a crown in the past would have required 2 appointments. The very first appointment consists of preparing the tooth, taking the mold, and fitting a short-term crown. During the second visit, the temporary crown is replaced with the long-term one. With a same day crown, the entire treatment can be finished in just one appointment. We will use video imaging innovation to photograph the tooth and use CAD/CAM innovation to design the crown. This 3D design is wirelessly transferred to a milling machine that sculpts the restoration from a vacuum formed ceramic block. We will then adhere the new crown to your tooth. This removes the need to get a short-term along with a 2nd appointment.

Restorative dentistry treatments can be extremely important to the general health of your teeth and mouth. Please call our office and request a visit.

The Topic Of The Day Will Be:

Digital X-Rays

X-rays are a primary tool for early identification of dental problems.

Spotting issues with x-rays before they become problems can save you money in the long run by preventing the requirement for more extensive, costly procedures or surgeries. X-rays are mainly utilized to spot:

  • Cysts (fluid filled sacks at the base of your teeth).

  • Impacted teeth.

  • Teeth that are still coming in.

  • Tumors, both cancerous and non-cancerous.

  • Internal tooth decay.

Most dentists use digital x-rays, which have numerous advantages over conventional film based x-rays. Digital x-rays enable us to take x-rays with 1/5 of the radiation that you would receive from conventional dental x-rays. The worry of direct exposure to excess radiation is eliminated.

Big on-screen X-rays make patient communication more effective. The immediate observation of the images on the screen enables us to discuss your dental health quickly and accurately.

Digital radiography has significantly enhanced the practice of dentistry. It enables the client and the medical professional to see pictures of the teeth in greater resolution on a big format for much easier detection of problems, all while decreasing the radiation exposure to the patient. The process we use further defines the radiograph, leading to clinically meaningful images that are sharp, detailed and rich in contrast.

Images are available quickly after exposure, eliminating the wait and effort spent establishing and installing x-rays. If an image has to be retaken, it can be done immediately. Digital format also allows us to send out and receive your images electronically for consultation that can be presented to you rapidly.
