At our dental practice we do same day crowns. You may be asking, exactly what are same day crowns and exactly what can it provide for me?

It is a 3D system that lets us make porcelain crowns and inlays all in one visit. We have actually now been using this innovation for multiple years and like it more than ever.

Same day crowns are an in-surgery computer system that permits us to fix damaged or missing tooth structures with a ceramic product that's as close to a natural tooth as is possible.

This is done while you remain in the practice, in just one visit. All ceramic porcelain inlays and onlays, veneers and crowns that look like natural teeth can be made and fitted in a single appointment, normally in about an hour.

So exactly what is the treatment?

We scan the opposite teeth and the way the teeth bite together first. We eliminate the old filling, and decay and any thin weak tooth product and scan the readied tooth.

After this we quit working in the mouth and start working with the computer.

Everybody likes seeing the pictures of their teeth and the creating of their new tooth. We make 3D design and this info is sent to the milling unit.

Everybody asks if this is like 3D printing and yes it is, but the tooth isn't built up layer by layer, it is cut back from a block in the device, which is much more durable.

The block is then exactly carved to produce your new restoration, which is fantastic.

Finally, the customized crown restoration bonded seamlessly into the tooth, enhancing and sealing it at the same time and then we tidy up!

We have to ensure that you can bite properly, that its smooth and that you can floss.

Today's Subject Will Be:

Teeth Whitening

Because having whiter teeth has now become the primary aesthetic concern of most clients, there are a number of methods to whiten teeth. The most popular technique is using a home tooth lightening system that will bleach teeth dramatically. Because tooth lightening just works on natural tooth enamel, it is important to evaluate replacement of any old fillings, crowns, and so on. Replacement of any restorations will be done after lightening so they will match the newly bleached teeth.

Most dentists use a number of approaches: customizeded tray lightening, professional strength white strips, and in-office bleaching.

The tray method involves having impressions taken, which the laboratory makes into custom vinyl trays. A carbamide peroxide gel is put in these trays and the trays with gel are worn for about 30 minutes to a full hour. The entire process takes about a week of daily use. Three different strengths of gel might be utilized, however, the higher the strength, the greater the probability of reactions or tooth sensitivity. The tray technique is recommended for badly stained teeth, such as tetracycline staining, and it may take numerous months of use to see substantial color improvement.

Our in-office treatment is a really quick and hassle-free lightening process. The appointment is roughly one hour including both the preparation and treatment. Our patients like this treatment since it is so simple and quick!

Tooth lightening is not permanent. A touch-up may be needed once a year and more often if you smoke and/or drink coffee, tea, or wine. For maintenance of whitened teeth the trays need to be used every couple of months.

Reasons For Tooth Whitening:

  • Yellow, brown stained teeth.

  • Normal wear of outer tooth layer.

  • Florousis (extreme fluoridation throughout tooth development).

  • Stained teeth due to medications (tetracycline, and so on).
