There are different types of dentures, however they share their common function. They replace teeth that have actually become loose or been lost due to bone loss. When bone loss around the roots of teeth is big enough to let them fall out or loosen them, it's time for dentures. Relax. No one enjoys losing their natural teeth, but you can still eat and talk regularly.
The whole mouth is analyzed and a determination is made regarding which teeth will have to be removed, and which will stay. The loose teeth are then extracted. Dentures are fitted to go around or over whatever teeth remain in the mouth, depending on the type. There is an adjustment time after dentures are positioned in the mouth, and it can take some getting used to. But once accustomed to the dentures, all the regular functionality and look return and one simply continues as usual. Frequently implants can be used to further stabilize the dentures.
It is very important to note that life with an upper denture, a lower denture, and especially both, is a significant lifestyle change when compared with natural teeth. Dentures affect the type of food you have the ability to eat, your confidence in social circumstances, as well as your self-esteem.
Reasons For Getting A Full Denture:
- All Teeth missing in the same arch
- Restore chewing ability
- Restore a natural looking smile
- Economical alternative to other treatments
An upper full denture will almost always feel better than a lower full denture. In order to drastically enhance the fit of a lower complete denture, we frequently suggest using dental implants as a retentive mechanism. Two dental implants put in the lower jaw can help anchor the denture and significantly improve comfort. Often, the implants can even be positioned in the jaw after a denture has actually been in use for multiple years.
