Updated On Sunday, October 21, 2018 03:39:10 AM

Our practice loves new innovations, specifically when it improves the dental care that we can offer to our patients. Because of this we now offer same day crowns.

Same day crowns are a remarkable new technology where gorgeous all porcelain crowns are produced within 2 hours of the prep work of a tooth for a crown. The old procedure was where the dentist prepared your tooth for a crown, took an impression and sent this impression to a lab to get the crown built. During this time the client would have to wear a short-term plastic crown that was always uncomfortable.

Today, our equipment enables us to scan the tooth preparation and mill out a new all porcelain crown within two hours. This means that the client leaves our practice with the final crown that day!

  • There is no need to wear a short-term crown for two to three weeks.

  • There's no need to return once more to have the same day crown inserted on your tooth.

  • There is no need to be numbed again! No more shots!

Our office likes same day crowns since it is made of stunning material as well as incredibly resilient.

If your thinking about a same day crown, please give our practice a call.

Dental Implants

A dental implant is a metal device created to replace missing teeth. The device is usually constructed of titanium and is surgically placed into the jawbone where the tooth is missing. An implant is permanent, unlike a dental bridge.

Crowns and conventional bridges or dentures may not be your only options when replacing missing teeth. For some people, dental implants offer a smile that feels and look extremely natural. Surgically put below the gums over a series of appointments, implants connect to the jawbone and function as a base for bridges or a denture, individual replacement teeth.

Implants offer stability because they fuse to your bone, a process called osseointegration. Integration of these implants into your jaw also helps your replacement teeth feel more natural and some individuals also find the secure fit is more comfortable than traditional alternatives. Prospects for dental implants need to have healthy gums and adequate bone to support the implant.

How Involving Is A Dental Implant?

A dental implant might be an option to replace a missing tooth. In this procedure, a little titanium shaft is surgically {placed|implanted into the bone and allowed to set. The bone grows around it forming a tight connection, which additionally slows or stops the bone loss that takes place when the root of a natural tooth is missing. As soon as the implant is securely set in the mouth, the dentist then works to connect the replacement tooth onto the top of the shaft. This permanent solution has the advantages over bridge work that it does not stress the surrounding teeth for support, and, should the tooth break, another can simply be replaced on the shaft.

Implants can also be utilized as support as part of an implant bridge. This is an alternative to partial dentures, and has multiple advantages. First, there is no modification period to acclimatize the client who, as soon as the work is done, only feels teeth, not metal supports intruding into the mouth. Second, this slows the bone loss occasioned by missing teeth. Third, there is no discomfort or problem in eating. And, best of all, of course, they do not need to be taken out all the time.
