CROWNS IN A DAY
JULESBURG COLORADO

Updated On Saturday, February 16, 2019 11:04:22 AM

Our practice likes new innovations, especially when it improves the dental care that we can offer to our clients. Because of this we now offer same day crowns.

Same day crowns are a remarkable brand-new technology where gorgeous all porcelain crowns are developed within 2 hours of the prep work of a tooth for a crown. The old process was where the dental practitioner prepared your tooth for a crown, took an impression and sent this impression to a laboratory to have the crown built. During this time the patient would have to wear a temporary plastic crown that was always uncomfy.

Today, our equipment enables us to scan the tooth preparation and mill out a brand-new all porcelain crown within two hours. This means that the client leaves our office with the final crown that day!

  • There's no need to wear a temporary crown for 2 or 3 weeks.

  • There is no need to return once again to have the same day crown inserted on your tooth.

  • There's no need to be numbed once again! No more shot needles!

Our practice likes same day crowns because it is made of stunning material as well as incredibly durable.

If your thinking about a same day crown, please give our office a call.

Today's Topic Is About:

Fillings

Fillings are done to eliminate decay, and replace the affected tooth structure. It is called a filling due to the fact that new material fills the hole that the decay left. Now days most teeth are treated with bonded tooth colored composite resin fillings. Caught early enough, cavities can be treated easily and painlessly. If not treated, decay can result in tooth discomfort and/or infection, and the tooth would need a root canal treatment or extraction.

There are two kinds of fillings; amalgam or silver fillings, and composite or white fillings. Composite fillings are tooth-colored to blend in with the remaining natural part of the tooth. Most dentists provide both kinds of fillings, however find that a number of their patients prefer the composite fillings.

The term composite refers to the actual filling material which is a mix of glass or quartz filler in a resin medium.

Composite fillings provide great resilience and resistance to fracture in small-to-mid size restorations that have to stand up to moderate chewing pressure. Less tooth structure is removed when the dentist prepares the tooth, and this may result in a smaller sized filling than with of an amalgam.

In addition, composites are "bonded", or adhesively attached, to the tooth, frequently enabling a more conservative repair for the tooth. Composite fillings require that the tooth be kept clean and dry throughout the whole filling process and they are subject to stain and staining with time. The life expectancy of a white filling can depend greatly on where it is in your mouth and how heavily your teeth come together when you bite.

Composite filling material is also commonly utilized to repair front teeth that have cracked or worn. Where possible, esthetic bonding of composite material to front teeth is typically much more economical than veneers or crowns. However, bonding generally does not last as long as veneers or crowns.
