Why Are These Crowns Called Same Day Crowns?

This cutting edge technology allows your dentist to take accurate images of your tooth and use those images to design, manufacture, and place a porcelain or zirconia crown in a single appointment. Same day crowns offer exceptional convenience, value, and accuracy to our clients.

How Does The Same Day Crown Technology Work?

The same day crown procedure includes 3 fundamental steps. First, your dental practitioner uses 3D imaging to take highly accurate images of your tooth and the surrounding structures. Second, she downloads these images into a computer and, using computer-assisted design software, develops your custom-fitted crown. Third, your dental practitioner will send the design to their in-office accuracy milling machine which produces the crown from a block of dental porcelain or zirconia. Once they stain and glaze the crown for additional strength and esthetics, your dental practitioner will position it on your tooth.

Exactly What Are The Advantages Of Same Day Crowns?

We just use dental porcelain and zirconia to create our same day crowns. These metal-free restorations provide unparalleled strength, resilience, chip and stain resistance, and natural appeal.

Precision-fitted same day crowns require less tooth prep work and protect more of your tooth structure.

Conventional crowns require 2 office appointments. With same day crowns, you can come to our dentist's office for a visit and leave with a wonderfully restored tooth.

You can prevent the inconvenience and possible risks associated with uncomfortable temporary crowns.

Today's Conversation Will Be About:

Temporal-Mandibular Joint

TMJ means temporal-mandibular joint. Temporal, as in temple area of skull; mandibular as in mandible, or lower jaw; joint as in it's where the head and jaw meet. Problems in this joint may be brought on by a misalignment of the teeth, trauma, or excess muscle tension. Aside from the two bones that meet there, cartilage buffers them and 5 muscles are involved in the area. If something goes wrong a good deal of trouble can result.

Problems in this area can trigger:

  • Earaches.

  • Headaches.

  • Pain in the jaw muscles.

  • Soreness in opening and closing the mouth.

  • Soreness in the area, in some cases extending to the face.

  • Clicking or popping of the jaw.

Dental treatments for the condition can consist of replacing missing teeth, moving teeth, adjusting the bite, filling gaps in between teeth, and so on. There is no one solution that is right for all cases. Often a plastic mouthpiece is utilized to prevent clenching or grinding that is adding to the issue. If unattended and taken to extremes, surgery might be required to fix a badly damaged joint.
