At our dental practice we do same day crowns. You may be asking, what are same day crowns and what can it provide for me?

It is a 3D system that lets us make porcelain crowns and inlays all in one appointment. We have now been using this technology for multiple years and like it more than ever.

Same day crowns are an in-surgery computer system that enables us to replace damaged or missing tooth structures with a ceramic product that's as close to a natural tooth as is possible.

This is done while you are in the practice, in simply one visit. All ceramic porcelain inlays and onlays, veneers and crowns that look like natural teeth can be made and placed in a single visit, typically in about an hour.

So what is the treatment?

We scan the opposite teeth and the method the teeth bite together first. We remove the old filling, and decay and any thin weak tooth material and scan the readied tooth.

After this we quit working in the mouth and begin working on the computer.

Everybody likes seeing the pictures of their teeth and the creating of their brand-new tooth. We make 3D design and this info is sent to the milling system.

Everyone asks if this is like 3D printing and yes it is, but the tooth isn't developed layer by layer, it is cut back from a block in the device, which is much more durable.

The block is then exactly sculpted to produce your brand-new restoration, which is wonderful.

Finally, the customized crown restoration bonded flawlessly into the tooth, reinforcing and sealing it at the same time and then we clean up!

We have to make certain that you can bite properly, that its smooth and that you can floss.

Same Day Teeth Restorations

Today's Topic Will Be:

Gum Disease (Periodontal Disease)

Gum disease is an infection of the tissues that surround and support your teeth. Since gum disease is usually painless, you might not know you have it. Also referred to as periodontal disease, gum disease is caused by plaque, the sticky film of bacteria that is constantly forming on our teeth.

Some warning signs that can indicate an issue:

  • gums that bleed easily.

  • red, swollen, sore gums.

  • gums that have retreated from the teeth.

  • consistent foul breath or bad taste.

  • permanent teeth that are separating or loose.

  • any difference in the way your teeth fit together when you bite.

  • any change in the fit of partial dentures.

There are numerous factors that enhance the danger of establishing gum disease consisting of smoking, pregnancy, and diabetes. It is very important to visit your dentist if you think you have gum disease because the faster you treat it the better.

The early stage of gum disease is called gingivitis. If you have gingivitis, your gums may end up being red, swollen and bleed quickly. At this stage, the disease is still reversible and can typically be removed by a professional cleaning at your dental office, followed by day-to-day flossing and brushing.

Advanced gum disease is called periodontitis. Chronic periodontitis can cause the loss of bone and tissue that support the teeth and it might become more serious in time. If it does, your teeth will feel loose and start moving around in your mouth. It usually worsens slowly, however there can be periods of rapid progression.

Aggressive periodontitis is a highly damaging kind of periodontal disease that occurs in patients who are otherwise healthy. Typical features include rapid loss of bone and tissue and may happen in some areas of the mouth, or in the entire mouth.

Research between systemic diseases and gum diseases is ongoing. While a link is not conclusive, some research studies suggest that severe periodontal disease might be related to a number of other health conditions such as stroke or diabetes.

Regular dental appointments and periodontal examinations are extremely important. The treatment methods that most dental experts diagnose will rely on the kind of disease and how far the condition has advanced. Great dental care in your home is necessary to help keep gum disease from ending up being more serious or recurring.
