Why Are They Called Same Day Crowns?

This state-of-the-art technology allows your dental practitioner to take accurate pictures of your tooth and use those images to design, manufacture, and put a porcelain or zirconia crown in a single visit. Same day crowns provide exceptional benefits, value, and accuracy to our clients.

How Does The Same Day Crown Technology Work?

The same day crown procedure consists of three basic steps. 1st, your dental practitioner uses 3D imaging to take extremely precise images of your tooth and the surrounding structures. 2nd, he downloads these images into a computer and, using computer-assisted design software, develops your custom-fitted crown. From there, your dentist will send the design to their in-office precision milling machine which produces the crown from a block of dental porcelain or zirconia. Once they stain and glaze the crown for additional strength and esthetics, your dentist will position it on your tooth.

What Are The Advantages Of Same Day Crowns?

We only use dental porcelain and zirconia to produce our same day crowns. These metal-free restorations provide incomparable toughness, resilience, chip and stain resistance, and natural beauty.

Precision-fitted same day crowns require less tooth prep work and preserve more of your tooth structure.

Traditional crowns need two office appointments. With same day crowns, you can come into our dentist's office for an appointment and leave with a magnificently fixed tooth.

You can prevent the trouble and possible risks associated with uncomfortable temporary crowns.

Today's Discussion Is About:

Temporal Mandibular Joint

TMJ stands for temporal-mandibular joint. Temporal, as in temple area of skull; mandibular as in mandible, or lower jaw; joint as in it's where the head and jaw meet. Issues in this joint might be brought on by a misalignment of the teeth, injury, or excess muscle stress. Aside from the two bones that meet there, cartilage buffers them and 5 muscles are involved in the area. If something goes wrong a good deal of trouble can result.

Problems in this area can cause:

  • Earaches.

  • Headaches.

  • Pain in the jaw muscles.

  • Soreness in opening and closing the mouth.

  • Soreness in the area, in some cases extending to the face.

  • Clicking or popping of the jaw.

Dental treatments for the condition can include replacing missing teeth, moving teeth, adjusting the bite, filling gaps between teeth, and so on. There is no one solution that is right for all cases. Often a plastic mouthpiece is used to prevent clenching or grinding that is adding to the problem. If untreated and taken to extremes, surgery may be needed to fix a badly damaged joint.
