Porcelain Veneers (Teeth)
Veneers are a really thin pieces of resilient, tooth shaped, porcelain that are customizeded (for shape and color) by a professional dental lab. They are bonded onto the front of teeth to produce a beautiful and appealing smile.
Veneers can entirely improve your teeth and smile. They can commonly be alternatives to crowns and the ideal option in treating numerous cosmetic dental conditions for the front teeth.
Similar to the majority of dental restorations, veneers may at some point require replacement; however, they are still really durable and will last many years, offering you a long lasting, stunning smile.
How Are Veneers Placed?
Veneers are a dental procedure where a covering is put over the outside (visible area) of the tooth. Veneers are usually only done to the part of the teeth that are seen when talking or grinning. The treatment can be direct or indirect.
The direct method generally involves putting composite resin on the outside of the tooth using bonding. This approach is generally referred to as bonding.
The indirect strategy generally involves 2 visits because the veneers will be fabricated at a dental lab. At the first appointment the teeth are prepared, impressions taken, and the teeth are offered a temporary covering. In 2 to 3 weeks the veneers are back from the laboratory, the temporaries are removed and the veneers are bonded to the teeth. The laboratory made veneers are normally made using porcelain or pressed ceramic, and are really esthetic.
The advantage of veneers versus crowns is that much less tooth material is eliminated, and the treatment is generally less unpleasant. Veneers are not suggested for teeth that have huge fillings or little tooth structure.
You will receive care guidelines for your veneers. Proper brushing, flossing and routine dental visits will aid in the life of your new and stunning veneers.
