What Are The Advantages Of Same Day Crowns?

There are a number of advantages to having treatment with same day crowns over conventional, laboratory-made restorations.

  • Everything is performed in a single visit, you only have to see the dentist once, take one day away from your schedule to have the treatment, instead of the typical 2 or 3 visits.

  • Only one anesthetic injections, since the entire procedure can be performed within an hour you only need to have one injection.

  • Your dentist is in complete control of the final outcome, given that the crown or inlay are designed and produced from start to finish by your dentist, they have overall control over how it will look and fit.

  • No temporary restorations, which can often fall off between appointments if they are not taken care of correctly.

The Discussion Of The Day Will Be:

Digital X-Rays

X-rays are a primary tool for early identification of dental problems.

Discovering problems with x-rays before they become problems can save you money in the long run by preventing the need for more extensive, costly procedures or surgeries. X-rays are mainly utilized to discover:

  • Cysts (fluid filled sacks at the base of your teeth).

  • Impacted teeth.

  • Teeth that are still coming in.

  • Tumors, both cancerous and non-cancerous.

  • Internal tooth decay.

Most dentists use digital x-rays, which have a number of advantages over traditional film based x-rays. Digital x-rays enable us to take x-rays with 1/5 of the radiation that you would receive from traditional dental x-rays. The worry of exposure to excess radiation is removed.

Huge on-screen X-rays make client communication more efficient. The instant observation of the images on the screen allows us to discuss your dental health quickly and properly.

Digital radiography has significantly improved the practice of dentistry. It allows the patient and the physician to see pictures of the teeth in greater resolution on a big format for much easier detection of issues, all while decreasing the radiation direct exposure to the client. The procedure we use further defines the radiograph, leading to clinically meaningful images that are sharp, detailed and rich in contrast.

Images are available quickly after exposure, eliminating the wait and effort spent developing and mounting x-rays. If an image has to be retaken, it can be done right away. Digital format also allows us to send out and receive your images digitally for consultation that can be presented to you rapidly.
