Why Do They Call Them Same Day Crowns?

This advanced innovation allows your dental practitioner to take precise images of your tooth and use those images to design, manufacture, and put a porcelain or zirconia crown in a single appointment. Same day crowns provide unparalleled benefits, value, and precision to our clients.

How Does The Same Day Crown Technology Work?

The same day crown process consists of three fundamental steps. First, your dentist uses 3D imaging to take highly precise photos of your tooth and the surrounding structures. Second, he downloads these images into a computer and, using computer-assisted design software, develops your custom-fitted crown. 3rd, your dentist will send the design to their in-office accuracy milling machine which produces the crown out of a block of dental porcelain or zirconia. Once they stain and glaze the crown for extra strength and esthetics, your dental practitioner will place it on your tooth.

Exactly What Are The Benefits Of Same Day Crowns?

We just use dental porcelain and zirconia to create our same day crowns. These metal-free restorations offer incomparable strength, durability, chip and stain resistance, and natural beauty.

Precision-fitted same day crowns require less tooth preparation and protect more of your tooth structure.

Standard crowns require 2 office appointments. With same day crowns, you can come into our dentist's office for an appointment and leave with a perfectly fixed tooth.

You can avoid the inconvenience and potential risks connected with ill-fitting short-term crowns.

Same Day Teeth Restorations

CEREC stands for CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take accurate digital imagery of areas needing restoration and produce the proper restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration finished in just one visit. We will design and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer milling unit right in the office. You no longer have to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the laboratory to fabricate your crown.

CEREC can be used in a full range of indications: anterior crowns, veneers, inlays, onlays, partial crowns and posterior crowns.

Today's Topic Will Be:

TMJ (Temporal Mandibular Joint)

TMJ means temporal-mandibular joint. Temporal, as in temple area of skull; mandibular as in mandible, or lower jaw; joint as in it's where the head and jaw meet. Issues in this joint might be triggered by a misalignment of the teeth, trauma, or excess muscle stress. Aside from the two bones that meet there, cartilage buffers them and 5 muscles are associated with the area. If something fails a good deal of trouble can result.

Problems in this area can cause:

  • Earaches.

  • Headaches.

  • Pain in the jaw muscles.

  • Trouble in opening and closing the mouth.

  • Soreness in the area, often extending to the face.

  • Clicking or popping of the jaw.

Dental treatments for the condition can consist of replacing missing teeth, moving teeth, adjusting the bite, filling gaps between teeth, and so on. There is no one solution that is right for all cases. Often a plastic mouthpiece is used to prevent clenching or grinding that is contributing to the problem. If neglected and required to extremes, surgery might be required to fix a badly damaged joint.
