Why Do They Call Them Same Day Crowns?

This cutting edge innovation permits your dental practitioner to take accurate pictures of your tooth and use those images to design, manufacture, and place a porcelain or zirconia crown in a single visit. Same day crowns offer exceptional convenience, value, and accuracy to our clients.

How Does The Same Day Crown Technology Work?

The same day crown procedure consists of 3 basic steps. First, your dental practitioner uses 3D imaging to take highly accurate images of your tooth and the surrounding structures. Second, she downloads these images into a computer and, using computer-assisted design software, develops your custom-fitted crown. Third, your dentist will send the design to their in-office accuracy milling device which produces the crown from a block of dental porcelain or zirconia. Once they stain and glaze the crown for added strength and esthetics, your dentist will place it on your tooth.

What Are The Benefits Of Same Day Crowns?

We only use dental porcelain and zirconia to produce our same day crowns. These metal-free restorations offer unparalleled toughness, durability, chip and stain resistance, and natural beauty.

Precision-fitted same day crowns require less tooth preparation and maintain more of your tooth structure.

Standard crowns require 2 office appointments. With same day crowns, you can come to our dentist's office for a visit and leave with a wonderfully fixed tooth.

You can prevent the trouble and possible risks related to uncomfortable short-term crowns.

Today We Will Be Going Over:

Root Canal (Endodontic Treatment)

Root canal treatment (also described as root canal therapy or endodontic therapy) is necessary when a cavity is allowed, through neglect, to reach all the way to the root pulp. (Regular cleanings and checkups prevent and discover problems early). Sometimes deep restorations or trauma to a tooth might also trigger the nerve to be harmed to the point it needs root canal treatment. When this occurs, the pulp ends up being infected, and can even extend through the root tip and start to eat away at the surrounding bone (this is an abscess).

By the time the pulp is infected it must be treated, and can not recover on its own. It can even damage the entire immune system. This is dangerous, and might be very uncomfortable. Symptoms that the pulp has actually become infected may include sensitivity to hot/cold or sweets, pain, swelling, discomfort to biting or pressure, and a bad taste in the mouth. Often, however, no signs are apparent and the individual is unaware of any issue up until a checkup.

A root canal is then carried out to clean out the infected tooth pulp, and decontaminate the canals of the tooth. The only other treatment would be to extract the tooth. As soon as the infection is resolved, the canal(s) are filled in to prevent any more infection. Usually a core build-up and crown is suggested for recovering a tooth that has actually had root canal therapy.
