Generally, getting a crown for a broken or degrading tooth is a long procedure that includes numerous steps and possibly several days of wait time before you get your new tooth.

A same day crown makes it possible for you to walk in to see a dentist and walk out with your new tooth currently in place. If you have a dentist offering same day crowns and are anticipating your visit, it is likely that you will have some concerns about the process.

Here are a few of the greatest concerns about same day crowns and the answers you will want to know.

How is a same day crown any different from a regular dental crown?

The fact is, there is not a great deal of difference while doing so to obtain a same day crown.

The only distinction is the fact that you will not be sent home to wait for your permanent crown to be produced by a dental lab, as the crown will be made in the dental office while you are there.

This eliminated the lengthy procedure of being fitted with a short-term crown then later on refitted with the permanent crown when it is complete.

How is it possible for a dentist to create a permanent crown throughout your appointment?

With advancements in dental technology, if a dental practitioner has the ideal equipment in the office, along with the best ability, they can create the new tooth from a solid piece of ceramic while you wait. This occurs using a device that takes the direct measurement of the mouth and existing teeth and changes it into an actual prosthetic from the ceramic using exact computer technology.

Besides the apparent advantage of less time to finish, what are the advantages of same day crowns?

Same day crowns permits you to avoid the whole step of a short-term crown, which can be a pain to take care of and may be prone to removing with basic oral hygiene, such as flossing and brushing.

Since entire steps are eliminated from the crowning procedure, such as multiple dental visits, you might even save some money to have a new same day crown placed.

To walk into a dentist office and leave with a brand-new crown in one appointment is an ideal and logical option for clients who need help with a broken tooth.

Speak to your dentist to find out more about same day crowns.

Today's Topic Will Be:

Ultra-Sonic Teeth Cleaning

We use ultrasonic scalers for a lot of adult dental cleanings. These devices utilize ultrasonic vibrations to help breakdown the plaque and calculus on the teeth that trigger gingivitis and periodontal disease. The ultrasonic cleaners create microscopic bubbles that implode on the surface of the tooth, killing microbes and removing plaque and tartar at the same time. Our instruments use a thin tip to better navigate in the periodontal pockets to help maintain optimal gingival health.

  • The treatment only uses water, no chemicals are used.

  • It can remove tartar buildup in hard-to-reach areas, without any damage to the tooth enamel.

  • Manual scaling commonly uses pressure for cleaning, while the vibration produced by the scaling tip of an ultrasonic scaler is hardly perceptible. This makes ultrasonic cleaning ideal to those with vulnerable teeth.

  • The cleaning process is quicker than manual scaling making your visit more comfortable.

After your teeth have actually been cleaned with the ultrasonic cleaner, your teeth will be hand scaled to look for any residual deposits and then polished.
