Dentures (Dental)

There are various types of dentures, however they share their common function. They replace teeth that have become loose or been lost due to bone loss. When bone loss around the roots of teeth is big enough to let them fall out or loosen them, it's time for dentures. Relax. No one enjoys losing their natural teeth, but you can still eat and talk regularly.

The entire mouth is analyzed and a decision is made regarding which teeth will need to be removed, and which will remain. The loose teeth are then extracted. Dentures are fitted to go around or over whatever teeth stay in the mouth, depending upon the type. There is an adjustment period after dentures are placed in the mouth, and it can take some getting used to. But once accustomed to the dentures, all the regular capability and look return and one simply carries on as usual. Often implants can be used to further stabilize the dentures.

It is important to keep in mind that life with an upper denture, a lower denture, and especially both, is a significant lifestyle change when compared to natural teeth. Dentures affect the type of food you have the ability to eat, your self-confidence in social circumstances, as well as your self-esteem.

Reasons For Getting A Full Denture:

  • All Teeth missing in the very same arch

  • Restore chewing capability

  • Restore a natural looking smile

  • Economical alternative to other procedures

An upper complete denture will almost always feel better than a lower full denture. In order to drastically improve the fit of a lower full denture, we frequently recommend using dental implants as a retentive mechanism. 2 dental implants positioned in the lower jaw can help anchor the denture and considerably improve comfort. In some cases, the implants can even be placed in the jaw after a denture has actually been in use for a number of years.
