At our dental practice we do same day crowns. You may be asking, what are same day crowns and exactly what can it do for me?

It is a 3D system that lets us make porcelain crowns and inlays all in one appointment. We have now been using this technology for multiple years and like it more than ever.

Same day crowns are an in-surgery computer system that permits us to fix damaged or missing tooth structures with a ceramic material that's as close to a natural tooth as is possible.

This is done while you are in the practice, in simply one visit. All ceramic porcelain inlays and onlays, veneers and crowns that feel and look like natural teeth can be made and placed in a single appointment, typically in about an hour.

So what is the treatment?

We scan the opposite teeth and the way the teeth bite together first. We remove the old filling, and degeneration and any thin weak tooth product and scan the prepared tooth.

After this we stop working in the mouth and begin working with the computer.

Everybody likes seeing the pictures of their teeth and the creating of their new tooth. We make 3D design and this info is sent to the milling system.

Everybody asks if this is like 3D printing and yes it is, but the tooth is not developed layer by layer, it is cut from a block in the device, which is much more durable.

The block is then exactly carved to produce your new restoration, which is wonderful.

Finally, the custom made crown restoration bonded effortlessly into the tooth, strengthening and sealing it at the same time and then we clean up!

We have to ensure that you can bite correctly, that its smooth and that you can floss.

The Topic Of The Day Will Be:

Tooth Whitening

Because having whiter teeth has now become the primary aesthetic concern of a lot of clients, there are numerous ways to bleach teeth. The most popular method is utilizing a home tooth whitening system that will whiten teeth considerably. Because tooth lightening just works on natural tooth enamel, it is very important to evaluate replacement of any old fillings, crowns, etc. Replacement of any restorations will be done after lightening so they will match the recently bleached teeth.

Most dentists utilize numerous techniques: custom made tray lightening, professional strength white strips, and in-office bleaching.

The tray method involves having impressions taken, which the lab fabricates into custom vinyl trays. A carbamide peroxide gel is placed in these trays and the trays with gel are worn for about 30 minutes to a full hour. The whole process takes about a week of day-to-day use. 3 different strengths of gel may be utilized, however, the greater the strength, the greater the probability of reactions or tooth sensitivity. The tray method is advised for terribly stained teeth, such as tetracycline staining, and it may take numerous months of use to see considerable color improvement.

Our in-office treatment is a very quick and convenient lightening process. The appointment is around one hour including both the preparation and treatment. Our clients love this treatment due to the fact that it is so simple and quick!

Tooth lightening is not permanent. A touch-up might be needed once a year and more often if you smoke and/or drink coffee, tea, or wine. For upkeep of whitened teeth the trays should be used every couple of months.

Reasons For Tooth Whitening:

  • Yellow, brown stained teeth.

  • Normal wear of external tooth layer.

  • Florousis (excessive fluoridation throughout tooth development).

  • Stained teeth due to medications (tetracycline, etc.).
