What Are Same Day Crowns?

The single visit crown is a technology for restoring damaged teeth, and this restoration can be finished in a single appointment to the dentist's office. It makes your teeth stronger and more lovely, all while keeping your teeth looking natural. The restoration is metal-free, and the high-grade ceramic material works with the natural tissue found in your mouth.

The Same Day Crown Process

Throughout your visit, you and your dental practitioner will talk about the details of the treatment and your dentist will answer any questions you might have. Your dental practitioner will then use a thin layer of reflective powder onto your tooth and will use a special 3D imaging camera to take a image of your tooth. Using the brand-new software, your restoration will be designed according to your tooth's appropriate form and function.

Then, the mill will use diamond burs to create your restoration out of a piece of ceramic. Finally, the ceramic restoration is bonded to your tooth using state-of-the-art adhesive dentistry.

Same Day Teeth Restorations

CEREC stands for CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take accurate digital imagery of areas needing restoration and produce the appropriate restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration finished in just one visit. We will develop and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer milling unit right in the office. You no longer have to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the laboratory to fabricate your crown.

CEREC can be used in a broad scope of indications: partial crowns, posterior crowns, anterior crowns, veneers, inlays, and onlays.

The Conversation For Today Will Be:

TMJ (Temporal Mandibular Joint)

TMJ stands for temporal-mandibular joint. Temporal, as in temple area of skull; mandibular as in mandible, or lower jaw; joint as in it's where the head and jaw meet. Problems in this joint may be caused by a misalignment of the teeth, trauma, or excess muscle tension. Aside from the two bones that meet there, cartilage buffers them and five muscles are associated with the area. If something fails a good deal of trouble can result.

Problems in this area can trigger:

  • Earaches.

  • Headaches.

  • Pain in the jaw muscles.

  • Trouble or soreness in opening and closing the mouth.

  • Soreness in the area, in some cases extending to the face.

  • Clicking or popping of the jaw.

Dental treatments for the condition can include replacing missing teeth, moving teeth, adjusting the bite, filling spaces in between teeth, and so on. There is no one solution that is right for all cases. Sometimes a plastic mouth piece is utilized to prevent clenching or grinding that is adding to the issue. If unattended and required to extremes, surgery might be needed to repair a terribly damaged joint.
