Three Reasons To Choose Same Day Crowns

If you've ever actually had a crown put over one of your teeth in the past, you understand that the procedure normally involves a minimum of two visits to the dentist and the placement of a short-term crown prior to you getting your permanent one.

However, there is a brand-new treatment for getting crowns that can allow you to obtain a long-term crown the same day. As the name suggests, same day crown devices allow crowns to be developed right there close to the dental practitioner's chair.

Have a look at a few reasons that same day crowns might be right for you.

More Attractive Teeth

Same day crowns are made completely of ceramic, removing the need for metal. While metal crowns are perfectly practical and safe, they're frequently considered less attractive than ceramic.

Ceramic crowns more closely resemble your natural enamel, making them an aesthetically preferable alternative, especially for highly-visible front teeth.

Same day crown devices can match the crown exactly to the shade of your natural teeth.

Saves Time And Money

Every hour you invest at the dentist's office is an hour off work or away from another activity or responsibility.

Needing to go back to the dental practitioner's office multiple times for one treatment may mean getting time off at work approved for more than one day, getting a babysitter for more than one day, or filling your automobile with gas to drive out of your way more than once in a brief time-span.

Any which way you take a look at it, several dental visits cost you money, in addition to what you're spending on the dental treatment. Getting everything carried out in one visit saves time, and time is money.

Saves More Natural Teeth

The device used in the same day crown procedure takes a digital scan of your tooth and after that is used to mill the crown on the spot, using the exact specs offered by the digital scan.

This allows the dental practitioner to keep as much of your natural tooth structure as possible, which is the healthiest option for your jaw.

This also enables the dentist to use the device to create inlays or onlays. These are partial crowns, used when you need more coverage than a filling will supply but less than a full crown.

Thanks to the more accurate digital measurements provided by the same day crown device, teeth that might once have required a complete crown may now be prospects for only a partial crown.

If you know that one of your damaged teeth will probably need a crown, be sure to make a visit with our dental practitioners today.

Same Day Crowns Restorations

CEREC means CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take exact digital images of locations needing restoration and produce the appropriate restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration completed in just one visit. We will create and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer system milling unit right in the office. You no longer need to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the lab to fabricate your crown.

CEREC can be utilized for a broad scope of indications: anterior crowns, veneers, inlays, onlays, partial crowns and posterior crowns.

Ultrasonic Tooth Cleaning

We use ultrasonic scalers for a lot of adult dental cleanings. These devices use ultrasonic vibrations to help breakdown the plaque and calculus on the teeth that trigger gingivitis and periodontal disease. The ultrasonic cleaners produce microscopic bubbles that implode on the surface of the tooth, killing microbes and removing plaque and tartar in the process. Our instruments use a thin tip to better navigate in the gum pockets to help keep optimal gingival health.

  • The procedure only uses water, no chemicals are used.

  • It can get rid of tartar buildup in hard-to-reach areas, without any damage to the tooth enamel.

  • Manual scaling commonly uses pressure for cleaning, while the vibration produced by the scaling tip of an ultrasonic scaler is barely perceptible. This makes ultrasonic cleaning ideal to those with delicate teeth.

  • The cleaning procedure is faster than manual scaling making your visit more comfy.

After your teeth have been cleaned with the ultrasonic cleaner, your teeth will be hand scaled to look for any residual deposits and then polished.
