Single Day Crowns And Teeth Restorations

Do you have to get a dental crown? Or will you quickly be requiring a dental procedure that will cause you to need a dental crown? If so, you may be starting to dread the time you will need to spend at the dentist's office. At our dental practice, we offer a excellent time-saving option for you. We provide same day crowns at our practice!

At our practice we are proud to have professional and highly-trained dentists on staff. At our dental practice we include state-of-the-art technology and treatments to provide our patients with the best restorative, precautionary, implant, and cosmetic dentistry care. For patients who have to get dental crowns, we are extremely pleased to be able to offer same day crowns.

Crowns and caps are two various names for the same thing. A dental crown is a restoration that is generally made from porcelain. It is a strong structure that is used to cover a tooth on all 4 sides to help strengthen the tooth and improve its function.

Crowns can also be used to attach bridges, as the top portion of a dental implant, or to prevent a damaged tooth from becoming weaker. Crowns can also be used to enhance a tooth after a root canal procedure.

Crowns are also used for purely aesthetic reasons, such as to cover a seriously discolored tooth that needs to be brought back to its original, appealing look.

Normally getting a dental crown is a prolonged treatment. The dental practitioner will have to take impressions, offer you with a temporary crown, wait for the crown to be returned from a lab, and after that have you come back to the office so that it can be permanently attached. Today at our practice clients can get same day crowns in about 2 hours.

Our same day crowns are developed in our office thanks to our CAD-CAM technology.

CAD-CAM stands for "computer-aided-design-computer-aided-manufacture." Computers are used to take photos which are then computer-analyzed and used to produce a crown.

This crown is actually milled by a computer in our office. The crown will fit your mouth exactly and remove any need to send impressions or photos to an outside lab.

All this is done while you wait, removing the need to come back for a second visit.

You also will not need to get a temporary crown, given that our permanent crown will be instantly available to you.

If you want to consult with our dental practitioner to get more information about same day crowns or to obtain a same day crown, call our office.

The Discussion For Today Will Be:

Tooth Whitening

Because having whiter teeth has now become the number one aesthetic concern of many patients, there are a number of ways to bleach teeth. The most popular method is utilizing a home tooth lightening system that will lighten teeth considerably. Since tooth lightening just works on natural tooth enamel, it is essential to evaluate replacement of any old fillings, crowns, etc. Replacement of any restorations will be done after whitening so they will match the freshly bleached teeth.

Most dentists use multiple techniques: customizeded tray whitening, professional strength white strips, and in-office lightening.

The tray method involves having impressions taken, which the lab produces into custom-made vinyl trays. A carbamide peroxide gel is placed in these trays and the trays with gel are worn for about 30 minutes to a full hour. The whole procedure takes about a week of day-to-day use. Three different strengths of gel might be used, however, the higher the strength, the greater the likelihood of reactions or tooth sensitivity. The tray technique is recommended for severely stained teeth, such as tetracycline staining, and it might take multiple months of use to see considerable color improvement.

Our in-office treatment is a really fast and hassle-free lightening process. The appointment is approximately one hour including both the preparation and treatment. Our clients love this treatment because it is so easy and quick!

Tooth whitening is not permanent. A touch-up may be required once a year and more often if you smoke and/or drink coffee, tea, or wine. For upkeep of whitened teeth the trays need to be used every few months.

Reasons For Tooth Whitening:

  • Yellow, brown stained teeth.

  • Normal wear of outer tooth layer.

  • Florousis (excessive fluoridation throughout tooth development).

  • Stained teeth due to medications (tetracycline, and so on).
