At our dental practice we do same day crowns. You may be asking, what are same day crowns and exactly what can it do for me?

It is a 3D system that lets us make porcelain crowns and inlays all in one appointment. We have now been using this technology for many years and love it more than ever.

Same day crowns are an in-surgery computer system that enables us to change damaged or missing tooth structures with a ceramic product that's as close to a natural tooth as is possible.

This is done while you remain in the practice, in just one appointment. All ceramic porcelain inlays and onlays, veneers and crowns that feel and look like natural teeth can be made and fitted in a single appointment, usually in about an hour.

So what is the treatment?

We scan the opposite teeth and the way the teeth bite together first. We remove the old filling, and decay and any thin weak tooth product and scan the prepared tooth.

After this we stop working in the mouth and begin working on the computer.

Everybody enjoys seeing the pictures of their teeth and the creating of their brand-new tooth. We make 3D design and this information is sent out to the milling unit.

Everyone asks if this is like 3D printing and yes it is, but the tooth isn't developed layer by layer, it is cut from a block in the device, which is much stronger.

The block is then exactly carved to produce your brand-new restoration, which is great.

At last, the customized crown restoration bonded perfectly into the tooth, enhancing and sealing it at the same time and after that we tidy up!

We need to make certain that you can bite correctly, that its smooth and that you can floss.

Same Day Teeth Restorations

CEREC stands for CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take exact digital imagery of locations needing restoration and produce the appropriate restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration finished in simply one visit. We will create and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer milling unit right in the office. You no longer need to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the laboratory to produce your crown.

CEREC can be used for a wide range of indications: anterior crowns, veneers, inlays, onlays, partial crowns and posterior crowns.

Today's Subject Will Be:

Ultrasonic Teeth Cleaning

We use ultrasonic scalers for the majority of adult dental cleanings. These devices use ultrasonic vibrations to help breakdown the plaque and calculus on the teeth that cause gingivitis and gum disease. The ultrasonic cleaners create microscopic bubbles that implode on the surface of the tooth, eliminating microorganisms and getting rid of plaque and tartar at the same time. Our instruments use a thin tip to better navigate in the periodontal pockets to help keep optimal gingival health.

  • The procedure only uses water, no chemicals are used.

  • It can remove tartar buildup in hard-to-reach locations, without any damage to the tooth enamel.

  • Manual scaling typically uses pressure for cleaning, while the vibration produced by the scaling tip of an ultrasonic scaler is barely noticeable. This makes ultrasonic cleaning ideal to those with vulnerable teeth.

  • The cleaning process is quicker than manual scaling making your visit more comfortable.

After your teeth have actually been cleaned with the ultrasonic cleaner, your teeth will be hand scaled to check for any residual deposits then polished.
