Exactly What Is A Dental Crown?

A crown is a cap made to cover a tooth with the function of restoring it to its natural shapes and size or to enhance its look. To get ready for the crown, dentists drill to get rid of the decayed section as well as form the tooth to prepare for the crown for that portion which lies around and above the gum line.

Today's Topic Has To Do With:

Tooth Whitening

Because having whiter teeth has now become the top aesthetic concern of the majority of clients, there are a number of ways to lighten teeth. The most popular method is utilizing a home tooth whitening system that will bleach teeth dramatically. Since tooth bleaching just works on natural tooth enamel, it is essential to evaluate replacement of any old fillings, crowns, and so on. Replacement of any restorations will be done after whitening so they will match the newly bleached teeth.

Most dentists use a number of approaches: customizeded tray whitening, professional strength white strips, and in-office whitening.

The tray method involves having impressions taken, which the lab fabricates into custom-made vinyl trays. A carbamide peroxide gel is put in these trays and the trays with gel are worn for about 30 minutes to a full hour. The entire process takes about a week of everyday use. 3 various strengths of gel might be used, however, the greater the strength, the greater the probability of reactions or tooth sensitivity. The tray method is recommended for severely stained teeth, such as tetracycline staining, and it may take multiple months of use to see significant color improvement.

Our in-office treatment is a very fast and practical lightening process. The visit is around one hour consisting of both the preparation and treatment. Our patients enjoy this treatment because it is so easy and quick!

Tooth whitening is not permanent. A touch-up may be needed once a year and more often if you smoke and/or drink coffee, tea, or wine. For upkeep of whitened teeth the trays ought to be utilized every couple of months.

Reasons For Tooth Whitening:

  • Yellow, brown stained teeth.

  • Normal wear of external tooth layer.

  • Florousis (excessive fluoridation throughout tooth development).

  • Stained teeth due to medications (tetracycline, etc.).
