Exactly What Are The Advantages Of Same Day Crowns?

There are a number of advantages to having treatment with same day crowns over traditional, laboratory-made restorations.

  • Everything is carried out in a single appointment, you only have to visit the dentist once, take one day away from your routine to have the procedure, instead of the usual two or 3 appointments.

  • Only one set of local, given that the entire procedure can be performed within an hour you just have to have one injection.

  • Your dental practitioner remains in complete control of the final outcome, given that the crown or inlay are designed and made from start to finish by your dentist, they have overall control over how it will look and fit.

  • No short-term restorations, which can frequently fall off in between visits if they are not looked after correctly.

Today's Conversation Is About:

Digital X-Rays

X-rays are a primary tool for early identification of dental issues.

Detecting issues with x-rays before they become problems can save you money in the long run by preventing the need for more extensive, pricey treatments or surgeries. X-rays are primarily used to find:

  • Cysts (fluid filled sacks at the base of your teeth).

  • Impacted teeth.

  • Teeth that are still coming in.

  • Tumors, both cancerous and non-cancerous.

  • Internal tooth decay.

Most dentists use digital x-rays, which have numerous advantages over traditional film based x-rays. Digital x-rays enable us to take x-rays with 1/5 of the radiation that you would receive from conventional dental x-rays. The concern of direct exposure to excess radiation is eliminated.

Big on-screen X-rays make patient communication more efficient. The instant observation of the images on the screen allows us to discuss your dental health quickly and accurately.

Digital radiography has greatly improved the practice of dentistry. It enables the patient and the physician to see images of the teeth in higher resolution on a large format for much easier detection of issues, all while decreasing the radiation exposure to the patient. The process we use further defines the radiograph, resulting in clinically meaningful images that are sharp, detailed and rich in contrast.

Images are available quickly after exposure, removing the wait and effort spent developing and mounting x-rays. If an image has to be retaken, it can be done instantly. Digital format also enables us to send out and get your images electronically for consultation that can be presented to you rapidly.
