Single Visit Dental Crowns With Advanced Technology

We aim to stay current with the multitude of technological advances that are occurring in dentistry. We are proud to have the same day crown technology in our office. It enables us to develop crowns and bigger restorations in our office. Same day crowns use the most advanced dental innovation, consisting of 3D video imaging and CAD/CAM innovation. In layman's terms, it is a computer-designed restoration for your tooth. The whole procedure takes in between 1-2 hours and can be finished in one sitting.

Typically, a crown in the past would have required 2 visits. The first visit consists of preparing the tooth, taking the mold, and fitting a short-term crown. Throughout the second visit, the temporary crown is replaced with the permanent one. With a same day crown, the entire treatment can be finished in simply one visit. We will use video imaging technology to tke a picture of the tooth and use CAD/CAM innovation to develop the crown. This 3D design is wirelessly transmitted to a milling machine that sculpts the restoration from a vacuum formed ceramic block. We will then adhere the new crown to your tooth. This eliminates the need to wear a short-term in addition to a second appointment.

Corrective dentistry procedures can be extremely important to the overall health of your teeth and mouth. Please call our office and request a consultation.

Same Day Crown Restorations

CEREC stands for CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take precise digital imagery of areas requiring restoration and produce the suitable restoration on the spot.

Today's Discussion Has To Do With:

Endodontic Treatment (Root Canal)

Root canal treatment (also referred to as root canal therapy or endodontic therapy) is necessary when a cavity is allowed, through neglect, to reach all the way to the root pulp. (Regular cleanings and checkups prevent and discover issues early). Sometimes deep restorations or trauma to a tooth might also trigger the nerve to be damaged to the point it requires root canal treatment. When this occurs, the pulp ends up being infected, and can even extend through the root tip and begin to eat away at the surrounding bone (this is an abscess).

By the time the pulp is infected it has to be treated, and can not heal on its own. It can even weaken the entire immune system. This is dangerous, and may be really uncomfortable. Signs that the pulp has actually become infected may include sensitivity to hot/cold or sugary foods, discomfort, swelling, pain to biting or pressure, and a bad taste in the mouth. Often, however, no signs are apparent and the individual is unaware of any problem till a checkup.

A root canal is then carried out to clean out the infected tooth pulp, and sanitize the canals of the tooth. The only other treatment would be to remove the tooth. Once the infection is fixed, the canal(s) are filled in to prevent any further infection. Usually a core build-up and crown is suggested for restoring a tooth that has actually had root canal treatment.
