Why Choose One Day Dental Crowns?

There are lots of advantages of single day crowns over traditional crown technology.

  • Time: Same day crowns are made in one visit, saving you significant time away from your job and family.

  • Comfort: With same day crowns, there is no need for a temporary crown, which eliminates significant potential discomfort and inconvenience of a lost temporary restoration. Only one visit means only one injection, or no injections if the tooth was previously treated with a root canal. No traditional impressions which means there is no gagging.

  • Aesthetic appeals: The strong, tooth-colored ceramic materials of this brand-new technology restores your teeth to their natural durability, appeal, and function and carefully match the composition of natural tooth structure.

  • Durability: Milled ceramic is stronger than the traditional method of layering and pressing, so your smile will remain lovely for many years!

  • Fillings: Same day crown material and innovation can also be used for fillings. Because they are constructed out of porcelain, they are more durable than white composite fillings. They are a lot more aesthetic than mercury containing silver fillings and stronger because of bonding innovation.

If you have any more concerns about same day crowns or porcelain crowns, please don't hesitate to contact our office today. We will answer any questions you have and you can make an appointment to talk to our dentist in person.

Same Day Crowns Restorations

CEREC stands for CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take accurate digital images of locations requiring restoration and produce the suitable restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration completed in just one visit. We will design and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer milling unit right in the office. You no longer need to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the laboratory to fabricate your crown.

CEREC can be used in a full range of indications: posterior crowns, anterior crowns, veneers, inlays, onlays and partial crowns.

The Topic For Today Is:

Endodontic Treatment (Root Canal)

Root canal treatment (also referred to as root canal therapy or endodontic therapy) is necessary when a cavity is allowed, through neglect, to reach all the way to the root pulp. (Regular cleanings and checkups prevent and identify issues early). In some cases deep restorations or trauma to a tooth may also trigger the nerve to be damaged to the point it requires root canal therapy. As soon as this takes place, the pulp becomes infected, and can even extend through the root tip and start to eat away at the surrounding bone (this is an abscess).

By the time the pulp is infected it needs to be treated, and can not recover by itself. It can even damage the whole immune system. This is dangerous, and may be really agonizing. Symptoms that the pulp has ended up being infected might consist of sensitivity to hot/cold or sweets, pain, swelling, pain to biting or pressure, and a bad taste in the mouth. Often, however, no signs are apparent and the individual is unaware of any problem up until a checkup.

A root canal is then performed to clean out the infected tooth pulp, and disinfect the canals of the tooth. The only other treatment would be to extract the tooth. Once the infection is dealt with, the canal(s) are filled in to prevent any further infection. Usually a core build-up and crown is recommended for restoring a tooth that has actually had root canal therapy.
