At our dental practice we do same day crowns. You may be asking, exactly what are same day crowns and what can it provide for me?

It is a 3D system that lets us make porcelain crowns and inlays all in one visit. We have actually now been using this innovation for multiple years and like it more than ever.

Same day crowns are an in-surgery computer system that enables us to replace broken or missing tooth structures with a ceramic product that's as close to a natural tooth as is possible.

This is done while you are in the practice, in just one visit. All ceramic porcelain inlays and onlays, veneers and crowns that look and feel like natural teeth can be made and fitted in a single appointment, normally in about an hour.

So exactly what is the procedure?

We scan the opposite teeth and the way the teeth bite together first. We eliminate the old filling, and degeneration and any thin weak tooth product and scan the prepared tooth.

After this we stop working in the mouth and begin working on the computer.

Everybody enjoys seeing the pictures of their teeth and the creating of their new tooth. We make 3D design and this information is sent out to the milling system.

Everybody asks if this is like 3D printing and yes it is, but the tooth isn't built up layer by layer, it is cut from a block in the device, which is much more durable.

The block is then precisely carved to produce your new restoration, which is fantastic.

At last, the customized crown restoration bonded effortlessly into the tooth, enhancing and sealing it at the same time and then we tidy up!

We have to ensure that you can bite correctly, that its smooth and that you can floss.

Same Day Tooth Restorations

CEREC stands for CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take precise digital imagery of locations requiring restoration and produce the appropriate restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration finished in simply one visit. We will design and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer milling unit right in the office. You no longer need to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the lab to fabricate your crown.

CEREC can be utilized for a wide range of indications: anterior crowns, veneers, inlays, onlays, partial crowns and posterior crowns.

The Topic Of The Day Will Be:

Ultra Sonic Tooth Cleaning

We use ultrasonic scalers for many adult dental cleanings. These devices utilize ultrasonic vibrations to help breakdown the plaque and calculus on the teeth that trigger gingivitis and gum disease. The ultrasonic cleaners develop microscopic bubbles that implode on the surface of the tooth, killing microbes and removing plaque and tartar at the same time. Our instruments use a thin tip to better navigate in the gum pockets to help keep optimal gingival health.

  • The procedure only uses water, no chemicals are used.

  • It can get rid of tartar buildup in hard-to-reach areas, without any damage to the tooth enamel.

  • Manual scaling often uses pressure for cleaning, while the vibration produced by the scaling tip of an ultrasonic scaler is barely perceptible. This makes ultrasonic cleaning suitable to those with sensitive teeth.

  • The cleaning procedure is faster than manual scaling making your visit more comfortable.

After your teeth have been cleaned with the ultrasonic cleaner, your teeth will be hand scaled to look for any residual deposits and after that polished.
