Why Select Single Visit Crowns?

It is extremely important for a person to have a strong and healthy set of teeth. Nevertheless, there are some cases where dental cavity development is inevitable. It is typically triggered by the person's diet, habits and hygiene. Cavities that are not fixed early might trigger substantial damage to the tooth's enamel which might need a dental crown to restore its natural appearance and function.

A dental crown is a cap shaped like a tooth which is used to cover the tooth that has gone through extensive damage brought on by dental cavities. Getting it typically needs 2 dental appointments. Throughout the first appointment, your damaged tooth is cleaned and the decayed part is removed. The dental practitioner will then get the impression of your tooth that required the crown and will send it to a dental lab where traditional dental crowns were made. It could be made from a metal, ceramic or porcelain material. Only throughout the 2nd appointment, your custom-fitted dental crown is cemented to your broken tooth.

With the improvement in dental technology, the process of getting and wearing a dental crown has been made readily offered. Dentists use the new technology in making inlays/onlays, crowns and veneers. After your broken tooth is prepared, they will use an intraoral camera that will take the picture of your affected tooth and have it submitted to a computer. It will use a computer-aided design in taking the digital impression of your teeth and the impression is sent to the computer-aided manufacturing device which will mill a color-matched ceramic block to your same day crowns. Picking a same day crown over a traditional dental crown has its advantages and downsides.

Today We Will Be Discussing:

Ultra-Sonic Tooth Cleaning

We use ultrasonic scalers for many adult dental cleanings. These devices use ultrasonic vibrations to help breakdown the plaque and calculus on the teeth that cause gingivitis and gum disease. The ultrasonic cleaners develop tiny bubbles that implode on the surface of the tooth, killing microorganisms and getting rid of plaque and tartar at the same time. Our instruments use a thin tip to better navigate in the gum pockets to help keep optimal gingival health.

  • The treatment only uses water, no chemicals are used.

  • It can get rid of tartar buildup in hard-to-reach locations, with no damage to the tooth enamel.

  • Manual scaling commonly uses pressure for cleaning, while the vibration produced by the scaling tip of an ultrasonic scaler is hardly noticeable. This makes ultrasonic cleaning appropriate to those with sensitive teeth.

  • The cleaning procedure is much faster than manual scaling making your visit more comfy.

After your teeth have actually been cleaned with the ultrasonic cleaner, your teeth will be hand scaled to check for any residual deposits and after that polished.
