Same Day Crowns With Advanced Technology

We aim to stay current with the multitude of technological advances that are happening in dentistry. We are proud to have the same day crown innovation in our office. It permits us to produce crowns and larger restorations in our office. Same day crowns use the most sophisticated dental innovation, consisting of 3D video imaging and CAD/CAM innovation. In layman's terms, it is a computer-designed restoration for your tooth. The whole treatment takes in between 1-2 hours and can be finished in one sitting.

Generally, a crown in the past would have required 2 visits. The first appointment consists of preparing the tooth, taking the mold, and fitting a temporary crown. During the 2nd appointment, the short-term crown is replaced with the permanent one. With a same day crown, the whole procedure can be completed in just one appointment. We will use video imaging technology to take a photo of the tooth and use CAD/CAM technology to design the crown. This 3D design is wirelessly transmitted to a milling device that carves the restoration from a vacuum formed ceramic block. We will then adhere the new crown to your tooth. This eliminates the need to get a temporary as well as a 2nd visit.

Restorative dentistry treatments can be very important to the general health of your teeth and mouth. Please call our office and request a visit.

Same Day Crown Restorations

CEREC stands for CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take exact digital images of locations requiring restoration and produce the appropriate restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration finished in simply one visit. We will develop and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer system milling unit right in the office. You no longer have to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the laboratory to produce your crown.

CEREC can be used for a full scope of indications: posterior crowns, anterior crowns, veneers, inlays, onlays and partial crowns.

Today's Discussion Will Be About:

Ultrasonic Teeth Cleaning

We use ultrasonic scalers for many adult dental cleanings. These devices use ultrasonic vibrations to help breakdown the plaque and calculus on the teeth that cause gingivitis and periodontal disease. The ultrasonic cleaners produce tiny bubbles that implode on the surface of the tooth, killing microbes and removing plaque and tartar in the process. Our instruments use a thin tip to better navigate in the periodontal pockets to help keep optimal gingival health.

  • The treatment only uses water, no chemicals are used.

  • It can eliminate tartar buildup in hard-to-reach locations, without any damage to the tooth enamel.

  • Manual scaling typically uses pressure for cleaning, while the vibration produced by the scaling tip of an ultrasonic scaler is hardly perceptible. This makes ultrasonic cleaning ideal to those with delicate teeth.

  • The cleaning process is much faster than manual scaling making your visit more comfortable.

After your teeth have been cleaned with the ultrasonic cleaner, your teeth will be hand scaled to check for any residual deposits and after that polished.
