Are you too busy for the normal 2 dental visit crown?

Technology today is changing our daily lives. Many individuals, however, aren't aware that technology also is impacting dentistry in brand-new and exciting ways.

Advanced developments in dental instruments are requiring less time in the dental chair, triggering less discomfort and developing gratifying outcomes.

One advancement instrument, called same day crowns, permits dentists to quickly restore damaged teeth with natural-colored ceramic fillings, saving clients time and inconvenience.

Exactly what are Same Day Crowns?

Same day crowns, mean that a dentist can economically fix broken teeth in a single visit using a top quality ceramic product that matches the natural color of other teeth.

How does it work?

Same day crowns use CAD/CAM (Computer Aided Design/Computer Aided Manufacturing) innovation, integrating a camera, computer, and milling device in one instrument.

The dentist uses a unique camera to take a precise image of the broken tooth. This optical impression is moved and shown on a color computer screen, where the dentist uses CAD technology to develop the restoration. The CAM takes control and automatically produces the restoration while the client waits.

Finally, the dentist bonds the brand-new restoration to the surface area of the old tooth. The whole procedure takes about two hours.

What does this innovation provide for a client?

A tooth-colored restoration means no more silver fillings tarnishing smiles. The filling is natural-looking, suitable with tissue in the mouth, anti-abrasive and plaque-resistant.

Dentists no longer need to produce temporaries or take impressions and send them to a laboratory. Because of this, the conventional second appointment has been eliminated.

Same day crowns have twenty years of clinical research and documents to promote the technology. The restorations have been proven accurate, safe and effective.

How can I find out if this is an option for me?

Call our practice today and we will be happy to address your questions on this brand-new innovation.

Today's Topic Will Be:

Digital X-Rays

X-rays are a primary tool for early identification of dental problems.

Detecting issues with x-rays before they end up being problems can save you money in the long run by preventing the requirement for more extensive, pricey treatments or surgeries. X-rays are mainly used to identify:

  • Cysts (fluid filled sacks at the base of your teeth).

  • Impacted teeth.

  • Teeth that are still coming in.

  • Tumors, both cancerous and non-cancerous.

  • Internal tooth decay.

Most dentists use digital x-rays, which have a number of advantages over conventional film based x-rays. Digital x-rays enable us to take x-rays with 1/5 of the radiation that you would receive from conventional dental x-rays. The concern of exposure to excess radiation is removed.

Huge on-screen X-rays make patient communication more efficient. The instant observation of the images on the screen allows us to discuss your dental health quickly and properly.

Digital radiography has greatly improved the practice of dentistry. It enables the patient and the medical professional to see pictures of the teeth in greater resolution on a large format for easier detection of problems, all while decreasing the radiation exposure to the client. The process we use further defines the radiograph, resulting in clinically meaningful images that are sharp, detailed and rich in contrast.

Images are available quickly after exposure, getting rid of the wait and effort spent developing and installing x-rays. If an image needs to be retaken, it can be done instantly. Digital format also enables us to send out and receive your images electronically for consultation that can be provided to you rapidly.
