Teeth Veneers (Porcelain)
Veneers are a really thin pieces of long lasting, tooth shaped, porcelain that are customizeded (for shape and color) by a professional dental laboratory. They are bonded onto the front of teeth to create a beautiful and attractive smile.
Veneers can entirely improve your teeth and smile. They can typically be alternatives to crowns and the perfect solution in treating numerous cosmetic dental conditions for the front teeth.
As with the majority of dental restorations, veneers might at some point need replacement; however, they are still very resilient and will last years, giving you a long lasting, lovely smile.
How Are Veneers Placed?
Veneers are a dental procedure in which a covering is put over the outside (noticeable area) of the tooth. Veneers are normally only done to the part of the teeth that are visible when talking or smiling. The procedure can be direct or indirect.
The direct strategy usually involves putting composite resin on the outside of the tooth using bonding. This approach is normally referred to as bonding.
The indirect technique typically involves 2 visits because the veneers will be produced at a dental lab. At the very first visit the teeth are prepared, impressions taken, and the teeth are offered a temporary covering. In 2 to 3 weeks the veneers are back from the lab, the temporaries are removed and the veneers are bonded to the teeth. The laboratory made veneers are typically made using porcelain or pressed ceramic, and are very esthetic.
The advantage of veneers versus crowns is that much less tooth material is eliminated, and the treatment is generally less unpleasant. Veneers are not recommended for teeth that have large fillings or little tooth structure.
You will get care directions for your veneers. Correct brushing, flossing and regular dental visits will aid in the life of your new and beautiful veneers.
