CEREC DENTAL RESTORATIONS

If you have a fractured or busted tooth, are experiencing discomfort when chewing or exposed to hot or cold temperature levels, or wish to remove unattractive metal crowns or fillings, then dental crowns might be an excellent alternative for you. Dental Crowns cover the outter surface area of the affected tooth, adding sturdiness and stability to it.

Same-day dental crowns are an option that we provide on a case by case basis to clients who would benefit from the treatment. They allow patients to come to our office and leave within a couple hours with their final dental crown in place that same day. This eliminates the need to have a temporary crown placed and then another appointment scheduled for the positioning of the permanent crown.

Our Same-Day Crowns are made with our new technology that scans the mouth to get the appropriate measurements of your tooth and surrounding teeth, then makes your crown right there in the office. These restorations are very strong and resilient and made out of the highest quality porcelain available. In many cases, a gold crown might be recommended for your posterior teeth (back teeth) if you grind or clinch your teeth a lot.

Gold crowns are different from porcelain crowns, and the cost may differ between the two and you might want to discuss your budget plan too with the your dental practitioner. Your dental practitioner will discuss with you the kinds of crowns available and give you a suggestion based upon your certain circumstance.

Call us to arrange a complimentary cosmetic consultation. We look forward to meeting you.

Today's Subject Is:

Temporal Mandibular Joint

TMJ stands for temporal-mandibular joint. Temporal, as in temple area of skull; mandibular as in mandible, or lower jaw; joint as in it's where the head and jaw meet. Problems in this joint may be triggered by a misalignment of the teeth, trauma, or excess muscle tension. Aside from the two bones that meet there, cartilage buffers them and five muscles are involved in the area. If something fails a good deal of trouble can result.

Problems in this area can trigger:

  • Earaches.

  • Headaches.

  • Pain in the jaw muscles.

  • Soreness in opening and closing the mouth.

  • Soreness in the area, sometimes extending to the face.

  • Clicking or popping of the jaw.

Dental treatments for the condition can include replacing missing teeth, moving teeth, adjusting the bite, filling spaces between teeth, etc. There is no one solution that is right for all cases. Often a plastic mouthpiece is utilized to prevent clenching or grinding that is adding to the problem. If untreated and required to extremes, surgery might be needed to fix a severely damaged joint.
