What's So Great About Single Visit Dental Crowns?

In a common dental practice, receiving dental crowns is a long and often an unpleasant process that can take multiple weeks to finish. However, our practice uses same day crown innovation, which enables us to scan, design, and mill beautiful tooth-colored crowns in one day.

Envision coming into our dental office to get a crown and leaving the same day with a strong, resilient, and visually pleasing crown already in place. Call us today for additional information!

More About The Single Visit Crown Process

Throughout your visit, you and your dentist will discuss the details of the procedure and your dentist will answer any concerns you may have. Your dental practitioner will then apply a thin layer of reflective powder onto your tooth and will use a unique 3D imaging camera to take a image of your tooth. Using the brand-new software, your restoration will be designed according to your tooth's appropriate form and function.

Then, the mill will use diamond burs to produce your restoration from a piece of ceramic. Finally, the ceramic restoration is bonded to your tooth using state-of-the-art adhesive dentistry.

Same Day Crowns Restorations

CEREC stands for CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take exact digital imagery of locations requiring restoration and produce the suitable restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration completed in just one visit. We will create and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer milling unit right in the office. You no longer need to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the lab to fabricate your crown.

CEREC can be used in a broad scope of indications: veneers, inlays, onlays, partial crowns, posterior crowns and anterior crowns.

The Conversation Of The Day Will Be:

Temporal Mandibular Joint

TMJ means temporal-mandibular joint. Temporal, as in temple area of skull; mandibular as in mandible, or lower jaw; joint as in it's where the head and jaw meet. Problems in this joint might be caused by a misalignment of the teeth, trauma, or excess muscle stress. Aside from the two bones that meet there, cartilage buffers them and 5 muscles are involved in the area. If something fails a good deal of trouble can result.

Problems in this area can cause:

  • Earaches.

  • Headaches.

  • Pain in the jaw muscles.

  • Trouble in opening and closing the mouth.

  • Soreness in the area, in some cases extending to the face.

  • Clicking or popping of the jaw.

Dental treatments for the condition can include replacing missing teeth, moving teeth, adjusting the bite, filling gaps in between teeth, etc. There is no one solution that is right for all cases. Sometimes a plastic mouthpiece is utilized to prevent clenching or grinding that is adding to the problem. If unattended and taken to extremes, surgery may be needed to repair a terribly damaged joint.
