Single Visit Crowns - A Smart Innovation

We strive to stay current with the multitude of technological advances that are occurring in dentistry. We are proud to have the same day crown technology in our office. It enables us to produce crowns and larger restorations in our office. Same day crowns use the most advanced dental innovation, including 3D video imaging and CAD/CAM technology. In layman's terms, it is a computer-designed restoration for your tooth. The entire procedure takes in between 1-2 hours and can be completed in one sitting.

Generally, a crown in the past would have required two appointments. The first visit includes preparing the tooth, taking the mold, and fitting a temporary crown. Throughout the 2nd appointment, the temporary crown is replaced with the permanent one. With a same day crown, the entire treatment can be completed in just one visit. We will use video imaging innovation to tke a picture of the tooth and use CAD/CAM innovation to develop the crown. This 3D design is wirelessly transmitted to a milling device that sculpts the restoration from a vacuum formed ceramic block. We will then adhere the brand-new crown to your tooth. This removes the need to get a temporary along with a 2nd appointment.

Corrective dentistry treatments can be very important to the overall health of your teeth and mouth. Please call our office and request a visit.

The Topic Of The Day Will Be:

Tooth Whitening

Because having whiter teeth has now become the primary aesthetic concern of a lot of patients, there are multiple methods to whiten teeth. The most popular technique is using a home tooth bleaching system that will whiten teeth dramatically. Because tooth bleaching only works on natural tooth enamel, it is necessary to evaluate replacement of any old fillings, crowns, and so on. Replacement of any restorations will be done after lightening so they will match the recently bleached teeth.

Most dentists use multiple approaches: custom made tray bleaching, professional strength white strips, and in-office lightening.

The tray technique involves having impressions taken, which the lab makes into custom-made vinyl trays. A carbamide peroxide gel is placed in these trays and the trays with gel are worn for about 30 minutes to a full hour. The whole procedure takes about a week of day-to-day use. 3 various strengths of gel might be used, however, the greater the strength, the higher the possibility of reactions or tooth sensitivity. The tray method is suggested for severely stained teeth, such as tetracycline staining, and it may take multiple months of use to see substantial color improvement.

Our in-office treatment is a really fast and practical lightening process. The visit is around one hour consisting of both the preparation and treatment. Our clients like this treatment because it is so easy and quick!

Tooth whitening is not permanent. A touch-up might be required once a year and more often if you smoke and/or drink coffee, tea, or wine. For upkeep of whitened teeth the trays ought to be used every few months.

Reasons For Tooth Whitening:

  • Yellow, brown stained teeth.

  • Normal wear of external tooth layer.

  • Florousis (excessive fluoridation during tooth development).

  • Stained teeth due to medications (tetracycline, and so on).
