The Advantages Of Getting Single Visit Crowns Are:

  • It is time-saving. It permits you to have your dental crown put in place in just one dental visit.

  • Its material is biocompatible. Same day crowns use ceramic which mimics the look of your natural teeth hence making it aesthetically pleasing. It does not cause temperature sensitivity which holds true when it comes to dental crowns made from metals.

  • It is durable. Same day crowns have the same durability as those made from gold materials.

  • It is more accurate. The impression made from this brand-new technology is more accurate compared with traditional impressions.

  • Taking dental impression is more comfortable. Same day crowns use intraoral camera and CAD to take the impression of the tooth while standard dental impression is done using salt alignate.

The only disadvantage of a single visit crown is that not all patients are candidates for this treatment. Patients with substantial tooth damage that has reached the gum line requires a standard crown rather than a same day crown. Also, the damage in the front tooth requires a laboratory-manufactured crown due to the fact that they are meticulously made than same day crowns.

Temporal-Mandibular Joint

TMJ means temporal-mandibular joint. Temporal, as in temple area of skull; mandibular as in mandible, or lower jaw; joint as in it's where the head and jaw meet. Problems in this joint might be brought on by a misalignment of the teeth, injury, or excess muscle tension. Aside from the two bones that meet there, cartilage buffers them and five muscles are involved in the area. If something fails a good deal of trouble can result.

Problems in this area can cause:

  • Earaches.

  • Headaches.

  • Pain in the jaw muscles.

  • Trouble or soreness in opening and closing the mouth.

  • Soreness in the area, in some cases extending to the face.

  • Clicking or popping of the jaw.

Dental treatments for the condition can include replacing missing teeth, moving teeth, adjusting the bite, filling spaces between teeth, etc. There is no one solution that is right for all cases. Sometimes a plastic mouthpiece is used to prevent clenching or grinding that is adding to the issue. If unattended and required to extremes, surgery might be needed to fix a severely damaged joint.
