Porcelain Teeth Veneers
Veneers are a very thin pieces of resilient, tooth shaped, porcelain that are customizeded (for shape and color) by a professional dental lab. They are bonded onto the front of teeth to create a stunning and appealing smile.
Veneers can completely reshape your teeth and smile. They can commonly be alternatives to crowns and the ideal solution in treating lots of cosmetic dental conditions for the front teeth.
As with a lot of dental restorations, veneers might at some point need replacement; however, they are still very resilient and will last years, providing you a long lasting, gorgeous smile.
How Are Veneers Set?
Veneers are a dental procedure in which a covering is put over the outside (noticeable area) of the tooth. Veneers are generally only done to the part of the teeth that are seen when talking or smiling. The procedure can be direct or indirect.
The direct strategy usually involves placing composite resin on the outside of the tooth using bonding. This technique is typically referred to as bonding.
The indirect method generally involves two visits because the veneers will be made at a dental lab. At the first visit the teeth are prepared, impressions taken, and the teeth are given a short-term covering. In two to three weeks the veneers are back from the lab, the temporaries are removed and the veneers are bonded to the teeth. The lab produced veneers are usually made using porcelain or pressed ceramic, and are extremely esthetic.
The benefit of veneers versus crowns is that much less tooth material is eliminated, and the procedure is generally less uncomfortable. Veneers are not suggested for teeth that have big fillings or little tooth structure.
You will get care directions for your veneers. Appropriate brushing, flossing and regular dental visits will help in the life of your brand-new and lovely veneers.
