If you have a fractured or damaged tooth, are experiencing discomfort when chewing or exposed to hot or cold temperature levels, or want to eliminate unattractive metal crowns or fillings, then dental crowns might be a good alternative for you. Dental Crowns cover the visible surface of the affected tooth, adding sturdiness and stability to it.

Same-day dental crowns are an option that we provide on a case by case basis to patients who would gain from the procedure. They enable clients to come to our office and leave within a couple hours with their final dental crown in place that same day. This gets rid of the need to have a short-term crown placed and then another appointment arranged for the positioning of the final crown.

Our Same-Day Crowns are made with our new innovation that scans the mouth to get the appropriate measurements of your tooth and surrounding teeth, and then makes your crown right there in the office. These restorations are really strong and long lasting and made out of the highest quality porcelain available. Sometimes, a gold crown might be advised for your posterior teeth (back teeth) if you grind or clinch your teeth a lot.

Gold crowns are different from porcelain crowns, and the cost may differ between the two and you may wish to discuss your budget too with the your dental practitioner. Your dentist will go over with you the types of crowns available and offer you a recommendation based on your particular circumstance.

Call us to schedule a complimentary cosmetic consultation. We look forward to meeting you.

The Topic For Today Is:

Tooth Whitening

Because having whiter teeth has now become the top aesthetic concern of the majority of clients, there are multiple methods to whiten teeth. The most popular technique is utilizing a home tooth whitening system that will whiten teeth dramatically. Since tooth bleaching only works on natural tooth enamel, it is necessary to evaluate replacement of any old fillings, crowns, etc. Replacement of any restorations will be done after bleaching so they will match the recently bleached teeth.

Most dentists use multiple approaches: custom made tray bleaching, professional strength white strips, and in-office bleaching.

The tray approach involves having impressions taken, which the laboratory produces into customized vinyl trays. A carbamide peroxide gel is placed in these trays and the trays with gel are worn for about 30 minutes to a full hour. The whole procedure takes about a week of everyday use. 3 various strengths of gel might be used, however, the greater the strength, the greater the possibility of reactions or tooth sensitivity. The tray approach is suggested for terribly stained teeth, such as tetracycline staining, and it may take a number of months of use to see significant color improvement.

Our in-office treatment is a extremely quick and practical bleaching process. The visit is roughly one hour including both the preparation and treatment. Our clients enjoy this treatment since it is so simple and fast!

Tooth lightening is not permanent. A touch-up may be needed once a year and more often if you smoke and/or drink coffee, tea, or wine. For upkeep of whitened teeth the trays should be used every few months.

Reasons For Tooth Whitening:

  • Yellow, brown stained teeth.

  • Normal wear of outer tooth layer.

  • Florousis (extreme fluoridation during tooth development).

  • Stained teeth due to medications (tetracycline, etc.).
