What's So Special About Same Day Crowns?

In a typical dental practice, receiving dental crowns is a long and often an uncomfortable process that can take numerous weeks to complete. However, our practice uses same day crown innovation, which allows us to scan, design, and mill gorgeous tooth-colored crowns in one day.

Envision coming into our dental office to get a crown and walking out the same day with a strong, durable, and aesthetically pleasing crown already in place. Call us today for more information!

The Same Day Crown Process

Throughout your appointment, you and your dental practitioner will talk about the information of the treatment and your dentist will address any concerns you might have. Your dental practitioner will then apply a thin layer of reflective powder onto your tooth and will use a special 3D imaging camera to take a picture of your tooth. Using the brand-new software, your restoration will be designed according to your tooth's proper form and function.

Then, the mill will use diamond burs to develop your restoration from a piece of ceramic. Lastly, the ceramic restoration is bonded to your tooth using state-of-the-art adhesive dentistry.

Same Day Tooth Restorations

CEREC means CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take precise digital images of locations needing restoration and produce the suitable restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration finished in just one visit. We will create and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer system milling unit right in the office. You no longer need to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the lab to make your crown.

CEREC can be used in a broad range of indications: posterior crowns, anterior crowns, veneers, inlays, onlays and partial crowns.

Today's Subject Is:

Dental Bonding (Composite)

Bonding is a treatment where we use a tooth-colored composite material to a tooth, shape it, allow it to harden, and polish it. It can be used in certain circumstances where a tooth has been broken or become stained. These are normally small repairs, ones that can be resolved through this fairly affordable means instead of through a more costly dental treatment.

Here's How It Works:
Bonding includes adhering composite resin material that is matched to the color of the tooth, to the front of the tooth. This is done to fix damage done to the tooth by decay, to modify the positioning of the tooth, close spaces in between the teeth, or for cosmetic purposes. First the surface of the tooth is roughened in order to accept the bonding and hold it. A gel is applied to micro etch the tooth surface, and a primer/bond agent is applied so the material adheres to the surface area. Then the material itself is put on the tooth and hardened with intense light. The composite resin material is shaped and polished to get a lustrous finish as a last step.
