One Day Crowns And Teeth Restorations

Do you need to get a dental crown? Or will you quickly be needing a dental treatment that will cause you to need a dental crown? If so, you may be starting to dread the time you will need to invest at the dentist's office. At our dental practice, we offer a fantastic time-saving option for you. We provide same day crowns at our practice!

At our practice we are proud to have professional and highly-trained dental practitioners on staff. At our dental practice we integrate advanced innovations and treatments to provide our clients with the best restorative, precautionary, implant, and cosmetic dentistry care. For patients who need to get dental crowns, we are extremely pleased to be able to offer same day crowns.

Crowns and caps are 2 different names for the same thing. A dental crown is a restoration that is usually made of porcelain. It is a strong structure that is used to cover a tooth on all 4 sides to help strengthen the tooth and improve its function.

Crowns can also be used to attach bridges, as the top part of a dental implant, or to prevent a damaged tooth from becoming weaker. Crowns can also be used to reinforce a tooth after a root canal procedure.

Crowns are also used for purely aesthetic reasons, such as to cover a severely stained tooth that needs to be restored to its initial, attractive look.

Typically getting a dental crown is a prolonged procedure. The dentist will need to take impressions, offer you with a temporary crown, await the crown to be returned from a laboratory, and then have you come back to the office so that it can be permanently attached. Today at our practice patients can get same day crowns in about two hours.

Our same day crowns are developed in our office thanks to our CAD-CAM technology.

CAD-CAM stands for "computer-aided-design-computer-aided-manufacture." Computers are used to take photos which are then computer-analyzed and used to develop a crown.

This crown is really milled by a computer in our office. The crown will fit your mouth exactly and remove any need to send out impressions or photos to an outside lab.

All this is done while you wait, getting rid of the need to return for a second appointment.

You also will not have to get a crown, given that our long-term crown will be immediately offered to you.

If you wish to meet with our dental practitioner to learn more about same day crowns or to obtain a same day crown, contact our practice.

Today's Discussion Is About:

Dental Bonding (Composite)

Bonding is a procedure in which we use a tooth-colored composite product to a tooth, shape it, allow it to harden, and polish it. It can be used in specific scenarios where a tooth has been damaged or become stained. These are generally minor repairs, ones that can be resolved through this relatively inexpensive ways instead of through a more costly dental treatment.

How It Works:
Bonding involves adhering composite resin material that is matched to the color of the tooth, to the front of the tooth. This is done to repair damage done to the tooth by decay, to modify the positioning of the tooth, close gaps between the teeth, or for cosmetic purposes. First the surface of the tooth is roughened in order to accept the bonding and hold it. A gel is applied to micro etch the tooth surface area, and a primer/bond agent is used so the material adheres to the surface area. Then the material itself is placed on the tooth and hardened with intense light. The composite resin material is formed and polished to get a shiny finish as a last step.
