Porcelain Veneers (Teeth)
Veneers are a really thin pieces of resilient, tooth shaped, porcelain that are customizeded (for shape and color) by a professional dental lab. They are bonded onto the front of teeth to produce a gorgeous and appealing smile.
Veneers can completely reshape your teeth and smile. They can commonly be alternatives to crowns and the perfect solution in treating numerous cosmetic dental conditions for the front teeth.
Just like many dental restorations, veneers might someday require replacement; however, they are still extremely long lasting and will last years, offering you a long lasting, lovely smile.
How Are Veneers Set?
Veneers are a dental treatment in which a covering is positioned over the outside (visible area) of the tooth. Veneers are typically only done to the part of the teeth that are seen when talking or grinning. The treatment can be direct or indirect.
The direct strategy usually involves putting composite resin on the outside of the tooth using bonding. This method is generally referred to as bonding.
The indirect method typically involves 2 visits because the veneers will be produced at a dental lab. At the first appointment the teeth are prepared, impressions taken, and the teeth are provided a short-term covering. In 2 to 3 weeks the veneers are back from the laboratory, the temporaries are removed and the veneers are bonded to the teeth. The laboratory fabricated veneers are typically made using porcelain or pressed ceramic, and are very esthetic.
The benefit of veneers versus crowns is that much less tooth material is removed, and the treatment is typically less unpleasant. Veneers are not recommended for teeth that have large fillings or little tooth structure.
You will get care guidelines for your veneers. Correct brushing, flossing and regular dental visits will help in the life of your brand-new and stunning veneers.
