Two Reasons To Talk To Your Dental Practitioner About Same Day Crowns

Same day crowns are a fantastic choice that makes getting a crown a lot more practical and less time-consuming. These crowns work in much the same method as standard crowns, other than that same-day crowns are made in the dental practitioner's office while you are waiting, instead of being purchased from a dental lab like standard crowns.

Listed below are two reasons to speak with your dentist about the possibility of getting a same day crown:

Far more Convenient

Convenience is going to be the most significant factor that many people decide to go with a same-day crown.

In the past, getting a crown would mean that you would have to pay multiple visits to your dental practitioner before the crown was in place, with one visit dedicated to preparing your tooth and another appointment to position the long-term crown over your tooth.

While that might not appear like it is too time-consuming, it can typically be tough to take time off from your job or family numerous times in the length of a week or two in order to see your dental practitioner during regular business hours.

Since the same-day crown is produced in-house by your dentist, you will have the last crown fitted over the tooth before you leave from your one required crown visit.

This is helpful because you will not need to stress over irritating your employer, having your colleagues cover for you, or missing out on pay since you had to leave in the middle of the work day multiple times to go to the dentist.

A Lot More Comfortable

Another reason to ask your dental practitioner for a same-day crown is comfort. Same day crowns are more comfortable because you won't need to spend a week or more having a short-term crown while awaiting your long-term crown.

A temporary crown can typically be a source of a fair bit of irritation and discomfort because it can typically end up being loose quickly.

When a temporary crown is loose, it can allow liquids to get under it and touch nerves in the exposed roots of your tooth. The loose fit can also cause the temporary crown to shift along your gum and trigger the skin to become scratched and irritated.

While you typically do not have to wear a temporary crown for long, a same-day crown can allow you to prevent any problems associated with the short-term crown completely.

This kind of crown is going to be both a lot more comfy and a lot more convenient to get than a standard crown.

Today's Topic Will Be About:

Teeth Whitening

Because having whiter teeth has now become the top aesthetic concern of many clients, there are a number of methods to lighten teeth. The most popular method is utilizing a home tooth lightening system that will lighten teeth considerably. Because tooth lightening just works on natural tooth enamel, it is essential to evaluate replacement of any old fillings, crowns, etc. Replacement of any restorations will be done after lightening so they will match the recently bleached teeth.

Most dentists use multiple methods: customizeded tray bleaching, professional strength white strips, and in-office bleaching.

The tray technique involves having impressions taken, which the lab fabricates into custom vinyl trays. A carbamide peroxide gel is put in these trays and the trays with gel are worn for about 30 minutes to a full hour. The entire process takes about a week of day-to-day use. Three different strengths of gel may be utilized, however, the greater the strength, the greater the probability of reactions or tooth sensitivity. The tray technique is recommended for badly stained teeth, such as tetracycline staining, and it may take a number of months of use to see considerable color improvement.

Our in-office treatment is a very quick and convenient bleaching procedure. The visit is around one hour including both the preparation and treatment. Our patients enjoy this treatment because it is so simple and fast!

Tooth bleaching is not permanent. A touch-up may be required once a year and more often if you smoke and/or drink coffee, tea, or wine. For upkeep of whitened teeth the trays need to be utilized every few months.

Reasons For Tooth Whitening:

  • Yellow, brown stained teeth.

  • Normal wear of external tooth layer.

  • Florousis (extreme fluoridation during tooth development).

  • Stained teeth due to medications (tetracycline, etc.).
