Why Select Single Visit Crowns?

It is essential for a person to have a strong and healthy set of teeth. However, there are some cases where dental cavity development is inevitable. It is frequently triggered by the person's diet, habits and hygiene. Cavities that are not fixed early may trigger extensive damage to the tooth's enamel which may require a dental crown to restore its natural look and function.

A dental crown is a cap formed like a tooth which is used to cover the tooth that has undergone substantial damage caused by dental cavities. Getting it usually needs 2 dental appointments. During the very first appointment, your broken tooth is cleaned up and the decayed part is removed. The dentist will then get the impression of your tooth that needed the crown and will send it to a dental laboratory where standard dental crowns were made. It could be made from a metal, ceramic or porcelain material. Only during the second appointment, your custom-fitted dental crown is cemented to your affected tooth.

With the advancement in dental innovation, the process of getting and wearing a dental crown has actually been made easily offered. Dentists use the new technology in making inlays/onlays, crowns and veneers. After your damaged tooth is prepared, they will use an intraoral camera that will take the picture of your affected tooth and have it uploaded to a computer. It will use a computer-aided design in taking the digital impression of your teeth and the impression is transmitted to the computer-aided manufacturing machine which will mill a color-matched ceramic block to your same day crowns. Picking a same day crown over a standard dental crown has its advantages and disadvantages.

Today We Will Be Reviewing:

Digital X-Rays

X-rays are a primary tool for early identification of dental issues.

Identifying problems with x-rays before they end up being problems can save you money in the long run by preventing the need for more extensive, costly procedures or surgeries. X-rays are mainly utilized to detect:

  • Cysts (fluid filled sacks at the base of your teeth).

  • Impacted teeth.

  • Teeth that are still coming in.

  • Tumors, both cancerous and non-cancerous.

  • Internal tooth decay.

Most dentists use digital x-rays, which have multiple advantages over traditional film based x-rays. Digital x-rays allow us to take x-rays with 1/5 of the radiation that you would receive from traditional dental x-rays. The worry of exposure to excess radiation is removed.

Huge on-screen X-rays make client communication more efficient. The instant observation of the images on the screen enables us to discuss your dental health quickly and properly.

Digital radiography has greatly enhanced the practice of dentistry. It enables the client and the medical professional to see images of the teeth in higher resolution on a big format for much easier detection of problems, all while decreasing the radiation exposure to the client. The process we use further defines the radiograph, leading to clinically meaningful images that are sharp, detailed and rich in contrast.

Images are available instantly after exposure, eliminating the wait and effort spent developing and mounting x-rays. If an image has to be retaken, it can be done instantly. Digital format also allows us to send out and receive your images digitally for consultation that can be presented to you rapidly.
