Today's Topic Will Be About:

Dentures (Dental)

There are different kinds of dentures, however they share their common function. They replace teeth that have become loose or been lost due to bone loss. When bone loss around the roots of teeth is great enough to let them fall out or loosen them, it's time for dentures. Relax. No one enjoys losing their natural teeth, but you can still eat and talk regularly.

The entire mouth is examined and a determination is made regarding which teeth will need to be removed, and which will stay. The loose teeth are then extracted. Dentures are fitted to go around or over whatever teeth stay in the mouth, depending on the type. There is an adjustment period after dentures are placed in the mouth, and it can take some getting used to. But once accustomed to the dentures, all the regular functionality and look return and one simply continues as usual. Typically implants can be utilized to further support the dentures.

It is important to note that life with an upper denture, a lower denture, and especially both, is a major lifestyle change when as compared to natural teeth. Dentures affect the kind of food you are able to eat, your self-esteem in social circumstances, as well as your self-confidence.

A Couple Reasons For Getting A Full Denture:

  • All Teeth missing in the very same arch

  • Restore chewing ability

  • Restore a natural looking smile

  • Economical alternative to other procedures

An upper full denture will often feel much better than a lower complete denture. In order to significantly enhance the fit of a lower full denture, we often recommend using dental implants as a retentive mechanism. 2 dental implants positioned in the lower jaw can help anchor the denture and considerably improve comfort. Often, the implants can even be put in the jaw after a denture has actually been in use for a number of years.
