Same Day Crowns And Teeth Restorations

Do you have to get a dental crown? Or will you soon be requiring a dental treatment that will cause you to need a dental crown? If so, you might be starting to fear the time you will need to spend at the dental practitioner's office. At our dental practice, we provide a excellent time-saving option for you. We provide same day crowns at our practice!

At our practice we are proud to have professional and highly-trained dentists on staff. At our dental practice we integrate cutting edge innovations and treatments to offer our patients with the best restorative, precautionary, implant, and cosmetic dentistry care. For clients who have to get dental crowns, we are very pleased to be able to provide same day crowns.

Crowns and caps are 2 different names for the same thing. A dental crown is a restoration that is generally made from porcelain. It is a strong structure that is used to cover a tooth on all 4 sides to help reinforce the tooth and enhance its function.

Crowns can also be used to connect bridges, as the top part of a dental implant, or to prevent a damaged tooth from becoming weaker. Crowns can also be used to reinforce a tooth after a root canal treatment.

Crowns are also used for purely aesthetic reasons, such as to cover a significantly discolored tooth that has to be brought back to its initial, appealing look.

Typically getting a dental crown is a prolonged procedure. The dentist will need to take impressions, offer you with a short-term crown, wait for the crown to be returned from a lab, and after that have you go back to the office so that it can be permanently connected. Today at our practice clients can get same day crowns in about 2 hours.

Our same day crowns are created in our office thanks to our CAD-CAM innovation.

CAD-CAM means "computer-aided-design-computer-aided-manufacture." Computers are used to take pictures which are then computer-analyzed and used to develop a crown.

This crown is really milled by a computer in our office. The crown will fit your mouth exactly and eliminate any need to send impressions or images to an outside laboratory.

All this is done while you wait, eliminating the need to come back for a second visit.

You also will not have to get a short-term crown, since our permanent crown will be immediately available to you.

If you want to meet with our dentist to find out more about same day crowns or to obtain a same day crown, contact our practice.

Today We Will Be Going Over:

Digital X-Rays

X-rays are a primary tool for early identification of dental problems.

Finding problems with x-rays before they become problems can save you money in the long run by preventing the need for more extensive, expensive treatments or surgeries. X-rays are primarily utilized to spot:

  • Cysts (fluid filled sacks at the base of your teeth).

  • Impacted teeth.

  • Teeth that are still coming in.

  • Tumors, both cancerous and non-cancerous.

  • Internal tooth decay.

Most dentists use digital x-rays, which have numerous advantages over traditional film based x-rays. Digital x-rays allow us to take x-rays with 1/5 of the radiation that you would receive from conventional dental x-rays. The worry of exposure to excess radiation is removed.

Big on-screen X-rays make patient communication more efficient. The instant observation of the images on the screen enables us to discuss your dental health quickly and properly.

Digital radiography has significantly enhanced the practice of dentistry. It allows the client and the medical professional to see pictures of the teeth in greater resolution on a huge format for much easier detection of issues, all while reducing the radiation exposure to the patient. The procedure we use further defines the radiograph, resulting in clinically meaningful images that are sharp, detailed and rich in contrast.

Images are available immediately after exposure, removing the wait and effort spent establishing and mounting x-rays. If an image needs to be retaken, it can be done instantly. Digital format also enables us to send out and receive your images electronically for consultation that can be provided to you quickly.
