3 Reasons To Ask About Same Day Crowns

If you've ever had a crown put over one of your teeth previously, you know that the process typically involves at least 2 visits to the dental practitioner and the positioning of a temporary crown prior to you getting your long-term one.

However, there is a new treatment for installing crowns that can enable you to get a permanent crown the same day. As the name suggests, same day crown machines permits crowns to be developed right there close to the dental practitioner's chair.

Take a look at a few reasons same day crowns may be right for you.

Natural Looking Teeth

Same day crowns are made completely of ceramic, getting rid of the need for metal. While metal crowns are completely functional and safe, they're often considered less appealing than ceramic.

Ceramic crowns more closely resemble your natural enamel, making them an visually preferable choice, especially for highly-visible front teeth.

Same day crown machines can match the crown precisely to the shade of your natural teeth.

Saves Money And Time

Every hour you invest at the dental practitioner's office is an hour off work or away from another activity or obligation.

Needing to go back to the dentist's office several times for one procedure may indicate getting time off at work approved for more than one day, hiring a babysitter for more than one day, or filling your automobile with gas to drive out of your way more than once in a short time-span.

However you take a look at it, several dental visits cost you money, in addition to what you're investing in the dental treatment. Getting everything carried out in one appointment saves time, and time is cash.

Saves More Natural Teeth

The device used in the same day crown treatment takes a digital scan of your tooth and then is used to mill the crown on the spot, using the exact requirements provided by the digital scan.

This enables the dentist to keep as much of your natural tooth structure as possible, which is the healthiest choice for your jaw.

This also allows the dentist to use the machine to create inlays or onlays. These are partial crowns, used when you require more protection than a filling will offer but less than a complete crown.

Thanks to the more precise digital measurements provided by the same day crown device, teeth that may once have required a full crown might now be candidates for just a partial crown.

If you know that one of your chipped teeth will probably need a crown, be sure to make an appointment with our dentists today.

Today's Conversation Is About:

Tooth Whitening

Because having whiter teeth has now become the top aesthetic concern of many patients, there are a number of ways to lighten teeth. The most popular technique is utilizing a home tooth lightening system that will lighten teeth considerably. Since tooth lightening just works on natural tooth enamel, it is important to evaluate replacement of any old fillings, crowns, etc. Replacement of any restorations will be done after bleaching so they will match the recently bleached teeth.

Most dentists utilize numerous approaches: customizeded tray lightening, professional strength white strips, and in-office lightening.

The tray approach involves having impressions taken, which the lab fabricates into customized vinyl trays. A carbamide peroxide gel is put in these trays and the trays with gel are worn for about 30 minutes to a full hour. The entire process takes about a week of everyday use. 3 various strengths of gel might be used, however, the greater the strength, the greater the likelihood of reactions or tooth sensitivity. The tray approach is suggested for badly stained teeth, such as tetracycline staining, and it may take a number of months of use to see significant color improvement.

Our in-office treatment is a extremely quick and convenient bleaching process. The visit is approximately one hour consisting of both the preparation and treatment. Our clients enjoy this treatment since it is so simple and fast!

Tooth bleaching is not permanent. A touch-up may be needed once a year and more often if you smoke and/or drink coffee, tea, or wine. For upkeep of whitened teeth the trays should be used every few months.

Reasons For Tooth Whitening:

  • Yellow, brown stained teeth.

  • Normal wear of outer tooth layer.

  • Florousis (excessive fluoridation throughout tooth development).

  • Stained teeth due to medications (tetracycline, and so on).
