Same Day Teeth Restorations
CEREC stands for CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take accurate digital imagery of locations requiring restoration and produce the appropriate restoration on the spot.
With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration finished in simply one visit. We will create and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer system milling unit right in the office. You no longer have to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the laboratory to produce your crown.
CEREC can be used for a broad range of indications: onlays, partial crowns, posterior crowns, anterior crowns, veneers and inlays.

Gum Disease (Periodontal Disease)
Gum disease is an infection of the tissues that surround and support your teeth. Because gum disease is typically painless, you may not know you have it. Also referred to as periodontal disease, gum disease is caused by plaque, the sticky film of bacteria that is constantly forming on our teeth.
Some warning signs that can indicate a problem:
- gums that bleed easily.
- red, inflamed, sore gums.
- gums that have retreated from the teeth.
- persistent bad breath or bad taste.
- permanent teeth that are separating or loose.
- any difference in the way your teeth fit together when you bite.
- any change in the fit of partial dentures.
There are numerous aspects that increase the danger of developing gum disease including smoking, pregnancy, and diabetes. It is important to go to your dentist if you presume you have gum disease because the faster you treat it the better.
The early stage of gum disease is called gingivitis. If you have gingivitis, your gums might become red, swollen and bleed easily. At this phase, the disease is still fixable and can generally be eliminated by a professional cleaning at your dental office, followed by everyday flossing and brushing.
Advanced periodontal disease is called periodontitis. Chronic periodontitis can lead to the loss of bone and tissue that support the teeth and it may become more extreme in time. If it does, your teeth will feel loose and begin moving around in your mouth. It normally worsens slowly, but there can be periods of fast progression.
Aggressive periodontitis is a highly damaging type of gum disease that happens in patients who are otherwise healthy. Common features include rapid loss of bone and tissue and may happen in some areas of the mouth, or in the entire mouth.
Research in between systemic diseases and gum diseases is ongoing. While a link is not conclusive, some studies indicate that serious periodontal disease may be related to a number of other health conditions such as stroke or diabetes.
Routine dental checkups and periodontal examinations are extremely important. The treatment techniques that most dentists diagnose will depend upon the type of disease and how far the condition has actually advanced. Excellent dental care in your home is necessary to help keep periodontal disease from ending up being more severe or recurring.
