  • No need to wear a short-term crown

  • Digitally matches the color of your tooth

What Is A Dental Crown?

A crown is a cap made to cover a tooth with the function of restoring it to its natural shapes and size or to improve its appearance. To get ready for the crown, dental practitioners drill to get rid of the decayed area as well as form the tooth to get ready for the crown for that portion which lies around and above the gum line.

Same Day Crown Restorations

CEREC stands for CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take exact digital imagery of locations requiring restoration and produce the appropriate restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration completed in just one visit. We will design and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer system milling unit right in the office. You no longer have to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the lab to fabricate your crown.

CEREC can be utilized for a broad range of indications: posterior crowns, anterior crowns, veneers, inlays, onlays and partial crowns.

The Topic For Today Will Be:

Digital X-Rays

X-rays are a primary tool for early identification of dental issues.

Detecting problems with x-rays before they become problems can save you money in the long run by preventing the need for more extensive, pricey treatments or surgeries. X-rays are mostly used to spot:

  • Cysts (fluid filled sacks at the base of your teeth).

  • Impacted teeth.

  • Teeth that are still coming in.

  • Tumors, both cancerous and non-cancerous.

  • Internal tooth decay.

Most dentists use digital x-rays, which have numerous advantages over traditional film based x-rays. Digital x-rays allow us to take x-rays with 1/5 of the radiation that you would receive from traditional dental x-rays. The worry of exposure to excess radiation is removed.

Big on-screen X-rays make client communication more efficient. The instant observation of the images on the screen allows us to discuss your dental health quickly and accurately.

Digital radiography has greatly enhanced the practice of dentistry. It allows the client and the doctor to see images of the teeth in higher resolution on a huge format for easier detection of issues, all while decreasing the radiation exposure to the patient. The procedure we use further defines the radiograph, leading to clinically meaningful images that are sharp, detailed and rich in contrast.

Images are available quickly after exposure, getting rid of the wait and effort spent developing and installing x-rays. If an image has to be retaken, it can be done immediately. Digital format also enables us to send out and receive your images electronically for consultation that can be provided to you quickly.
