At our dental practice we do same day crowns. You may ask, what are same day crowns and what can it do for me?

It is a 3D system that lets us make porcelain crowns and inlays all in one visit. We have now been using this technology for many years and love it more than ever.

Same day crowns are an in-surgery computer system that permits us to fix broken or missing tooth structures with a ceramic product that's as close to a natural tooth as is possible.

This is done while you remain in the practice, in simply one visit. All ceramic porcelain inlays and onlays, veneers and crowns that look and feel like natural teeth can be made and fitted in a single appointment, normally in about an hour.

So what is the procedure?

We scan the opposite teeth and the way the teeth bite together first. We remove the old filling, and degeneration and any thin weak tooth product and scan the readied tooth.

After this we stop working in the mouth and start working on the computer.

Everyone enjoys seeing the pictures of their teeth and the creating of their new tooth. We make 3D design and this info is sent to the milling system.

Everyone asks if this is like 3D printing and yes it is, but the tooth is not built up layer by layer, it is cut from a block in the machine, which is much more durable.

The block is then exactly carved to produce your new restoration, which is fantastic.

At last, the custom made crown restoration bonded seamlessly into the tooth, strengthening and sealing it at the same time and after that we tidy up!

We have to make sure that you can bite correctly, that its smooth and that you can floss.

Same Day Crown Restorations

CEREC means CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take precise digital images of locations requiring restoration and produce the appropriate restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration completed in simply one visit. We will design and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer system milling unit right in the office. You no longer have to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the lab to produce your crown.

CEREC can be used in a full range of indications: onlays, partial crowns, posterior crowns, anterior crowns, veneers and inlays.

Today's Topic Is About:

UltraSonic Teeth Cleaning

We use ultrasonic scalers for a lot of adult dental cleanings. These devices utilize ultrasonic vibrations to help breakdown the plaque and calculus on the teeth that cause gingivitis and periodontal disease. The ultrasonic cleaners produce microscopic bubbles that implode on the surface of the tooth, killing microorganisms and removing plaque and tartar in the process. Our instruments use a thin tip to better navigate in the gum pockets to help keep optimal gingival health.

  • The procedure only uses water, no chemicals are used.

  • It can remove tartar buildup in hard-to-reach locations, with no damage to the tooth enamel.

  • Manual scaling frequently uses pressure for cleaning, while the vibration produced by the scaling tip of an ultrasonic scaler is hardly noticeable. This makes ultrasonic cleaning suitable to those with delicate teeth.

  • The cleaning procedure is quicker than manual scaling making your visit more comfortable.

After your teeth have been cleaned with the ultrasonic cleaner, your teeth will be hand scaled to check for any residual deposits and then polished.
