What's So Special About Single Visit Dental Crowns?

In a common dental practice, receiving dental crowns is a long and frequently an unpleasant process that can take a number of weeks to finish. However, our practice uses same day crown innovation, which allows us to scan, design, and mill beautiful tooth-colored crowns in one day.

Picture coming into our dental office to receive a crown and walking out the same day with a strong, resilient, and aesthetically pleasing crown already in place. Call us today to learn more!

The Single Visit Crown Process

Throughout your visit, you and your dentist will discuss the details of the treatment and your dental practitioner will answer any questions you might have. Your dentist will then apply a thin layer of reflective powder onto your tooth and will use a special 3D imaging camera to take a image of your tooth. Using the new software, your restoration will be created according to your tooth's appropriate form and function.

Then, the mill will use diamond burs to develop your restoration from a piece of ceramic. Finally, the ceramic restoration is bonded to your tooth using cutting edge adhesive dentistry.

Same Day Tooth Restorations

CEREC means CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take exact digital images of areas needing restoration and produce the suitable restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration completed in just one visit. We will design and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer milling unit right in the office. You no longer have to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the lab to make your crown.

CEREC can be utilized for a wide range of indications: inlays, onlays, partial crowns, posterior crowns, anterior crowns and veneers.

Today's Subject Will Be:

Tooth Veneers (Porcelain)

Veneers are a really thin pieces of resilient, tooth shaped, porcelain that are custom made (for shape and color) by a professional dental lab. They are bonded onto the front of teeth to produce a stunning and attractive smile.

Veneers can completely improve your teeth and smile. They can typically be alternatives to crowns and the perfect solution in treating many cosmetic dental conditions for the front teeth.

Similar to many dental restorations, veneers might someday require replacement; however, they are still very durable and will last years, giving you a long lasting, lovely smile.

How Are Veneers Set?

Veneers are a dental treatment where a covering is placed over the outside (visible area) of the tooth. Veneers are typically only done to the part of the teeth that are visible when talking or smiling. The procedure can be direct or indirect.

The direct technique generally involves putting composite resin on the outside of the tooth using bonding. This approach is generally referred to as bonding.

The indirect technique generally involves two visits because the veneers will be fabricated at a dental lab. At the very first visit the teeth are prepared, impressions taken, and the teeth are offered a temporary covering. In two to three weeks the veneers are back from the laboratory, the temporaries are removed and the veneers are bonded to the teeth. The laboratory made veneers are normally made using porcelain or pressed ceramic, and are really esthetic.

The advantage of veneers versus crowns is that much less tooth material is removed, and the treatment is typically less unpleasant. Veneers are not suggested for teeth that have large fillings or little tooth structure.

You will receive care guidelines for your veneers. Appropriate brushing, flossing and regular dental visits will aid in the life of your brand-new and beautiful veneers.
